Strategies
Like the Bear Trap, Landmines are recommended in openings in the Train, such as windows or the rear passage. Note that players may occasionally step on them. Unlike other Explosives, it can't oneshot most Entities due to its low damage, so it's recommended to use these in bulking. If you are playing Demolitionist (or any other class immune to explosives), you can use Landmines as "buttons" to trigger stronger explosives placed nearby, skipping their fuse times. While you can do this for other classes as well, it is not recommended since you will suffer heavy damage and most likely die.
Trivia
The Landmine is the weakest explosive in the game. The top of the mine has the shape of an eye. It is unknown if this is a coincidence or intentional. This could also be the trigger mechanism; some historical land mines have had similar designs. Unlike other explosives, the Landmine does not have any knockback upon detonating. It is very possible for a player to not see a welded Landmine and step on it, especially if welded on the carriage of a Train, given its brown and rusty appearance.
