Strategy
Although the Mauser is less powerful than other Guns like the Rifle or Shotgun, it still makes for a good sidearm in the event one needs to reload.
While the Mauser is a great Weapon, it does tend to eat through Ammo faster than other Revolvers. Fortunately, Revolver Ammo is easy to obtain if one has the Money for it.
The Mauser is great for dealing with weaker Enemies like Zombies, allowing players to save their Rifle or Shotgun, or for tougher enemies like Werewolves or Vampires.
Although the Mauser sells for Money, it isn't recommended to sell the Mauser because of it being better than the other Revolvers, mainly due to its high DPS.
Pros & cons
Deals more damage and has higher accuracy than the Revolver.
High magazine capacity (10).
Can be obtained as a Gamepass, allowing players to start with it every game for an early advantage.
Can easily kill weaker Enemies, with one shot potential on certain damage boosting Classes.
Start with an additional 10 rounds of Ammo.
Very fast rate of fire.
Very high burst damage potential. It does approximately 253.5 headshot DPS, making it the gun with the second-highest DPS in the game.
Patch history
The Mauser is based on the real world Mauser C96. The reason it can be found in America despite being a German weapon there is because a lot of C96 pistols were sold to Texas Rangers and Policemen.
After the remake, the Mauser bears resemblance to the M1932/M712 Schnellfeuer, a select-fire, detachable magazine version of the M30.
This makes the Mauser well out of Dead Rail's time period of 1899, as the Schnellfeuer was produced in 1932.
M1932 was an unofficial designation given by collectors; M712 was the designation given by the German Wehrmacht.
The Mauser has the fastest firerate in game if rapidly tapped/used in conjunction with an autoclicker.
