Strategy
The Revolver can be purchased at the start of a run by selling the Gold Bar that spawns in the starting Safe Zone, along with some Revolver Ammo for it. This allows you to kill Enemies like Outlaws to sell them so you can afford better gear.
The Revolver is largely outclassed by other Guns like the Rifle, Shotgun, or Mauser. As such, it is recommended to sell it once better options become available.
The Revolver pairs best with the Survivalist Class due to the increased damage.
Pros & cons
Ideal for players wanting to complete the "Gunslinger" Challenge.
Cheaper than other guns.
Very good early-combat gun.
The Cowboy class starts with one.
Can easily be obtained at the start of a run.
Can easily kill weak Enemies.
Patch history
The Revolver is the cheapest Gun available to purchase at the Gunsmith.
The Revolver is sometimes wielded by Outlaws, Zombie Soldier, and Sheriff Zombies.
The Revolver appears to be visually based on the Colt Single Action Army, which was the standard-issue Revolver of the U.S. Army from 1873 to 1892.
More specifically resembles the 5 1/2-inch "Artillery" model.
After the 1/11/2025 Update, the model is changed to be visually based on the Colt M1892, which was the first general issue double-action Revolver with a swing out cylinder used by the U.S.
