The Revolving Rifle is a Rifle type Weapon, added in the Presidential Update on 23/8/2025. It features high accuracy and damage, similar to the normal Rifle. It can kill most Entities with two shots to the body and can instantly kill most entities with a headshot at closer distances. The Revolving Rifle can be found in Abandoned Gunsmiths and Sheriff's Offices, as well as Outlaw Camps and Outlaw's Town. The Revolving Rifle actually has better accuracy than the normal Rifle while not aiming, even being 100% accurate while the player is standing still. However when aiming, it is still identical to the normal rifle with accuracy and player slower movement. Good damage. Better accuracy than the Rifle, while not aiming. Bullets can pierce through enemies. Extremely short reload time compared to the regular Rifle Difficult to find due to only be found occasionally at certain Buildings. Cannot kill enemies in one shot at longer ranges due to damage falloff.

Patch history
The Revolving Rifle is likely based on the Colt Model 1855 Revolving Rifles, which also had a carbine variant. In a realistic setting, the Revolving Rifle would be a terrible weapon in Dead Rails, as it required extensive and thorough cleaning after being fired unless the user is willing to risk their hand being injured in a chain fire. Along with this, sand blown around could damage the paper cartridges, further increasing the risk of a chain fire. A chain fire refers to the failure where all of the powder in the loaded chambers of a revolving weapon ignites. In a Model 1855, this would cause a spray of metal to be sent into the user's left arm and hand. The Model 1855 was in service in the U.S. from 1855 to 1876, but design problems delayed its actual use until 1857. The rifle was generally disliked by soldiers due to its flaws. The Revolving Rifle has identical damage values with the normal Rifle. Its fire and reload times are not fully confirmed at the moment. In Bite-Sized Mode Update, the Revolving Rifle finally got a noticeable difference between the normal Rifle, being more accurate while not aiming. The weapon is displayed as "Revolver Rifle" instead of "Revolving Rifle" in the inventory, possibly having to do with text size restrictions.
