Money Bag

While Money is classified as a currency, Money Bag is rather a collectable, physical item form of them. They are essential on earning money due to them being the only logical way of obtaining them. They appear after an item has been sold at the Trading Post or a bounty has been turned in at Sheriff’s Office, with a size varies depending on the amount of cash within. Players used to be able to collect them by holding E (in PC) or keep interacting to the button in the money bag (in mobile) while in range, which will transfer the money to them. Bigger Money Bags have a larger collection radius, and vice versa. Now, the player can instantly claim the bag by hovering over it and pressing E, which will transfer them the Money instantly. Players can only drop money in increments of 10, or below if they don't have enough to drop 10

How to Make Money

It is highly recommended to visit every Towns and POIs, where many Valuables can be seen and obtain. Additionally, Buildings and Ores spawning throughout the track nets you some money albeit not much. It can be done repeatedly until the player has enough Money and no longer need it. If you need tips on how to beat the game or certain structures, check the respective strategy pages. Currently, Money can be made in a large variety of ways. Some methods include: All buildings will contain Junk, and sometimes Valuables. Most Junk items can only be sold for a measly 5. However, Valuables ranging from Silver Watches to Gold Bars can sell from 7-50. Although the Wooden Painting and the Stone Statue are listed as Valuables, they only sell for 5, similar to Junk items. Banks inside of Towns contain several Gold and Silver Bars. Gold Bars can be sold for 50, while Silver Bars can be sold for 25. Ores spawning throughout the track can contain Gold Nugget or Silver Nugget depends on the ore type, which once successfully mined and obtained can be sold for a decent amount of money. Many POIs contains many Valuables, which can be sold to make hundreds of money. They may also attain some special items, which is worth more than most other items. Though this is more risky and thus more rewarding compared to looting normal Buildings. Certain Special Items can be sold for large amounts of money. Unicorn - 250 Brain in Jar - 250 Strange Mask - 250 Jade Sword - 250 Vampire Knife - 100 Lincoln's Ghost's Top Hat - 40 Ray Pistol - 100 Certain corpses can be sold.

Patch history

At least 1,000 is needed to complete the Tycoon Challenge. The Easter Bunny corpse is likely sold for 20 due to its code being reused from the Werewolf. This was proven when the amount of Fuel it gives is also the same to what the Werewolf would. The Soldiers in Fort Constitution used to be able to be claimed at the Sheriff's Office for 35. This was later removed. The Tycoon class gets a damage and health buff according to the amount of Money the player has. The High Roller class can claim Money Bags for 1.5x more money. However, Money Bags dropped by players still only have the same value Money is obsolete in A Fistful of Dollars challenge, since Items can't be sold. However, the starting 20 can still be spent, making that money amount very scarce. Claiming Bounties are allowed, however, since the challenge says "without selling anything" but does not mention anything about claiming Bounties. The smallest amount of money a naturally spawned Money Bag can have is 5, while the highest amount is 450. During the April Fools 2025 event, the smallest amount of money a Money Bag could have was 1 (by selling Fool's Gold and getting the 1 bag), while the highest amount still remains 300. By technicality, the actual lowest money bag is selling Gamepasses, such as the Mauser and Sawed-Off Shotgun, and certain Classes starting items, all giving 0. However, this was changed in a future update and those weapons can no longer be sold. Previously, Money Bags cannot be picked up or dragged, only collected. However, they can still be pushed around by players, entities, or dragged items.
