The Sheriff's Office is one of the many buildings encountered in Dead Rails. It is found in Fortified Towns, Abandoned Towns, and the ones occasionally seen throughout the map are used for capturing Bounties, such as Outlaws and Captain Prescott. Outlaws sell for 35, and Captain Prescott for 150. Werewolves and Vampires cannot be sold here and instead can be sold at the Trading Post. Abandoned Sheriff's Office

It is recommended to check out abandoned Sheriff's Offices with their signs intact, since they have a high chance of spawning good loot. You cannot turn in Outlaws, or Captain Prescott into Wild Sheriff's offices, even if they are presumably in good conditions. Before the Challenge Board update was added, you could be able to sell the Zombie Soldiers to the Sheriff's Office for 35$. This has since been patched out of the game now, presumably because it could easily make players extremely rich after a Fort Constitution raid. The one found in the safezone has the correct spelling of “Sheriff”, while Sheriff Buildings in the wild has the letter "F" at the end fallen off, making it spell "Sherif". There was another modern model of the Sheriff's Office that was unused by the Development Team. The only difference is the different interior, and different signs. The current Sheriff's office doesn't have the golden star. The unused designs and information about them were leaked by a contributor (Builder) Van7aev. You can use the sheriff's office to hide from Werewolves, or use it to wait for nighttime to pass. It is advised to loot them due to the fact they have a high chance of containing guns, ammo, and other valuables. There's a very low chance that you can find 1 or more 35$ Money Bags naturally spawn inside the building already as a loot. This could be happened because of the Outlaws could spawn inside the Sheriff's Office, standing right exactly at the selling area, so they immediately got turned into a Money Bag, but the chances are very low, considering they die already at spawn.
