Overview[1]
Wild (formerly); Gold Bar (first); Fool's Gold's drops... Purchasable Items (formerly) The Trading Post is one of the most crucial buildings in Dead Rails.
The Trading Post allows the players to sell almost anything they find on their journey in exchange for, which can be used to purchase Weapons, Coal, healing items and other essential supplies. At the start of every game, there is a Gold Bar within the first trading post that provides 50 (75 with High Roller), which results in a total of 70 (95 with High Roller), because of being combined with the starting 20. Exclusive to the Fool's Gold Gamemode, selling Fool's Gold wouldn't just dropping, instead, it can drop anything, from the Electrocutioner, Snake Oil to Dynamite and Torch. However, players had to be cautious while selling them. It could spawn any enemies that could end their run right away. As such, selling Fool's Gold is risky, and whether or not it is worth it is up to the player behind the controls.

Strategies
Players can rapidly empty their Sack in front of a selling spot to quickly sell items. However, be careful not to accidentally sell useful items when doing this, which can easily occur with a disorganized Sack. Selling items too quickly will result in some Money Bags spawning on the roof. It is possible to reach most of them from the selling table, though some of them require an object to stand on to reach. To avoid having other players steal your money in multiplayer, it is recommended to only sell one item at a time. If there is a High Roller on the team, it is recommended to leave the Money Bags for them to collect and multiply the income. In Fool's Gold gamemode, you can prepare yourself a Rifle or Shotgun when selling Fool's Gold, as enemies can spawn and end your run if you aren't paying attention. If you are attempting the Fistful of Dollars challenge, when it's either a Full or Blood moon, make sure to not let any Vampires or Werewolves stand near the selling tables, as they'll get sold immediately after they die. If one of them does spawn inside a Trading Post, make it chase you somewhere else.
Patch history
Trading Post is currently the only Building that spawns exclusively in Fortified Towns. They used to spawn in the Wild, but they were removed in the Tesla Update. These would act like normal Trading Posts, but 2 items (up to 4) would be on sale. This was removed due to a bug with them spawning above another building or vice versa. Unlike other buildings, the Trading Post currently doesn't have an abandoned version of it. The Trading Post is obsolete in A Fistful of Dollars challenge, since players cannot sell anything. Currently, the Gold Bar is the only actual loot (aside from ) that spawns naturally. The Trading Post is mandatory for some Challenges (e.g. Tycoon or Electric Remains). Tycoon and High Roller are always tied to Trading Posts, since they are mostly dependent on money. There is a significantly small chance to have a Money Bag that spawns naturally (this means without any player interactions). This could be happened when either a Vampire or Werewolf dies exactly at the selling table (though the former is more likely due to them having lower health), or rarer, an Unicorn that spawns directly at the selling table.
