Overview[1]

Train's firebox; Campfire; Nearby explosion; Outlaw Camps; Sterling; Town; House; Crafting; Zombie Miner (if killed before igniting), Explosion; 1 Linen; 1 Metal; 1 Component; recipe: 4 Metal; 1 Component Dynamite is an explosive item in Dead Rails.

Dynamite is an explosive Weapon that detonates five seconds after being ignited with either a Torch, the Train's firebox, and the Flamethrower, dealing massive damage to anything in its blast radius. In addition to its ability to kill several Enemies at once, Dynamite can also be used to blow open Bank vaults or access the Sterling Mines. The Dynamite can automatically explode upon contact with another explosion caused by another one of itself, the Gunpowder Barrel, Landmines, Acid Mines, and Acid Barrels. Dynamite is occasionally sold at the General Store for $25. It can also be found in Abandoned Buildings, Towns, Outlaw Camps, and Sterling. Apart from that, Zombie Miners wield one dynamite each which they can ignite without a fire source (they automatically ignite it when they come close enough to a player or any other entity). They also drop their dynamite if killed before they ignite it.

Strategies

Players should keep away from Torches or the Train's firebox unless they plan to detonate it. Dynamite can be used to kill Outlaws in the early game, which can help the player obtain a good amount Cash before purchasing Items. The player can use Dynamite as a last resort Weapon if the Train is being overrun by Enemies. However, if the player is not careful this, can lead to their untimely demise. Try using Dynamite against swarms of Enemies, preferably groups of Werewolves. Though, players should be careful when igniting it so they don't blow themselves up, unless they have a class which is immune to explosions. The Horse class is immune to Dynamite explosions, meaning that you can afford to be less careful with it. This is likely a critical Bug. Stationary Torches in Fortified Towns and other areas can be used to light Dynamite. It is possible to store an ignited Dynamite once players drop it. Although the fuse will still appear lit, it is simply a visual effect and must be reignited to actually cause harm. The same applies for Zombie Miners. This can save the player from trollers and Zombie Miners.

Patch history

The sound of the explosion and ignition of Dynamite in the game is a sped up version of the audios above. Dynamite was the first explosive in the game, the others being Gunpowder Barrel and Landmine. Players often use Dynamite to kill and troll their fellow teammates. Dynamite is the 1st item that can kill players; the 2nd one being the Molotov and the third one being the Gunpowder Barrel. When Dynamite blows up a Bank door, the door actually no clips through the floor. Due to a bug, players can store lit Dynamite, causing the fuse to be lit but the Dynamite cannot explode. Fire liquid and green flames from Holy Water liquid can't be used to ignite Dynamite. Category:Items Category:Weapons Category:Utility Weapons Category:Explosives
