Overview[1]
90 (fully charged); 75-112.5 (DPS); 0.6s to fully charge The Excalibur is a unique melee Weapon in Dead Rails.
Excalibur is found within Stillwater Prison, stuck inside a stone. The time it takes to extract Excalibur from the stone takes 30 seconds, and after Excalibur is uprooted, a player can equip it and use it. Upon hitting an Enemy with a fully charged attack, there is a high chance of striking them with Lightning.

Strategy
Using charged slashes significantly increases the chance of summoning lightning, as the uncharged ones have little, or maybe even no chance to summon a lightning at all. If using the Survivalist, having health 88 and below will allow Excalibur to instantly kill most enemies in a fully charged swing. If using the Tycoon, having at least 223 money will allow Excalibur to instantly kill most enemies in a fully charged swing. If using the Werewolf class at night or the Vampire class, it is possible to one shot most Entities (including Vampires) with a nearly fully charged attack.
Trivia
It is based on the sword of the same name from the legend of King Arthur. Excalibur is one of four melee Weapons in the game to have special effects, with the others being the Jade Sword, the Vampire Knife, and the Spear of Longinus. The Excalibur has double the damage of most melee weapons in the game. Constantly hitting fully charged hits with this sword could potentially deal a max of 983 damage per second, but that’s if a player will always be lucky enough to summon the lightning, which is unreliable, AND also perfectly charge hit it every 0.6 seconds, which is almost impossible due to human error and lag. Unlike most weapons, the Excalibur has collision when picked up, making it inconvenient to use near walls or low ceilings, or just on the Train because how it launches the player when used.
