The Gunpowder Barrel spawns next to the General Store in the first Safe Zone. It can be purchased from the General Store for $50. It can be ignited with a Torch, the Train's firebox, or the Flamethrower, causing it to explode similiar to the Dynamite, but with higher damage and a much larger radius. It is useful for eliminating large groups of enemies. Like the Dynamite, it can be used to blow open Bank vaults or access the Sterling Mines. The Barrel can explode upon contact with another explosion from a Dynamite, another Gunpowder Barrel, Landmines, Acid Barrels, or Acid Mines. They can be bought inside General Stores or found inside Abandoned Buildings and other locations.

Strategy
Stationary Torches in Buildings, Towns, and Fortified Towns can be used to light Dynamite Barrels. It is not advised to use this weapon at all, due to Dynamite being cheaper and more common, alongside less risk. This weapon is also heavier to carry and bulkier in size. It can be used to kill a large horde of stronger enemies, however a set up is required. Be it inside the Train after many enemies have climbed in, or lighting it near a horde of enemies and luring them to it. If using the Horse class or Demolitionist, one can light the Barrel and charge towards a large amount of enemies to explode them all without or with little harm to the user. After the Destructible Objects update, Gunpowder Barrels can now be shot with any ranged weapon. Simply drop a barrel, lure enemies close to it, then shoot it to create a powerful explosion.
Patch history
The is the most powerful explosive in the game. The can move outside the General Store without being purchased or picked up. The sound of the fuse is a deeper version of the Dynamite ignition sound. The Gunpowder Barrel is a retexture of the barrel but with 4 legs and a fuse. As with all explosives, the Gunpowder Barrel can damage the players. When a Gunpowder Barrel spawns in the General Store, it'll often be found outside the General Store or on the roof instead of being inside. This is due to it spawning in the sky above where it's supposed to spawn. It can kill you or your teammates (unless a class immune to explosions is used, such as Horse), so you should be careful when igniting it. Fire liquid and green flames from Holy Water liquid can't be used to ignite Dynamite. Due to a bug, players can store lit Barrels, causing the fuse to be lit but it not exploding.
