Pros & cons

  • Relatively common/easy to find in many Buildings.

  • Ideal for players wanting to complete the "Gunslinger" Challenge.

  • The deviation when shooting is 0, which means that aiming at the target will not deviate the arrow's trajectory, something that other Weapons do not have. [confirm]

  • Can be purchased at the General Store for $25.

  • Cheap Ammo, can be purchased for $10.

  • Will always spawn in Stillwater Prison, along with its Ammo.

  • Relatively high damage for its price.

  • Does not wake up zombies when fired.

Obtaining

  • The Crossbow is useless for close combat when the enemy is already on you, as its shots do no damage.

  • It is wielded by the Covenant Archers inside Stillwater Prison.

  • Covenant Archers still use the old crossbow model.

  • This is the first Weapon in the game to have bullet drop.

  • There is no explanation as to why this weapon and the Blunderbuss can be purchased at the General Store instead of the Gunsmith. Mechanically, both are medieval weapons and ancient firearms respectively (which can be referred to as player-equipped weapons) but are not available in the Gunsmith.

  • The same goes for various types of ammo like Cannon Balls, Ballista Bolts and Arrows.
