Supply Depot; 2093 Biome The Cannon is a unique turret in Dead Rails.
The Cannon is a unique artillery weapon found in Fort Constitution, with only three spawning per run: one inside the Supply Depot that the player can take, and one on each tower on either side of the entrance. It shoots out Cannonballs that deal heavy splash damage, making it great for dealing with both single Enemies and large groups. However, additional Cannonballs can only be bought from the General Store if the player is lucky. This Ammo is the most expensive Ammo in the game and comes in smaller quantities, so it is advised to preserve existing Ammo from Fort Constitution. It can turn in an estimated angle of 75 +- 15° (60-90°). The Cannon spawns in Fort Constitution's Supply Depot, which can only be unlocked with the Supply Depot Key obtained by killing Captain Prescott. Cannon Ammo can be bought from the General Store for $75. It is highly recommendable to purchase enough beforehand, as you may run out of Cannon Ammo. Always spawns in Fort Constitution with 12 Cannon Balls. Huge AoE - Can destroy multiple enemies (NPCs) when summoned or in large numbers. Deals very high damage - enough to kill all normal enemies. Repels enemies upon hitting them, being the only mounted weapon having that trait. Unique to Fort Constitution (only one per run) Like other turrets, it cannot be sold and has a limited turning angle. The rate of fire is quite slow. Requires killing Captain Prescott (along with other enemies) and unlocking the inventory in Fort Constitution. Reload time is relatively long. Can only be used when welded on a train or Horse Cart.

Strategies
It is highly recommended to save the Cannon for the final stand at Outlaw Town, especially if Nikola Tesla has been reassembled beforehand. The Cannon could be used as a strategy to kill the Easter Bunny during the Eggstravaganza event, as it deals a lot of damage. It took 20-25 Cannonballs to kill it. The Cannons on the towers of Fort Constitution can be used to kill the oncoming horseback Zombie Soldiers, but the player should only do this if they don't have ammo for guns since the shots will also kill the Horses. Be wary when using the Cannon to shoot enemies near teammates, since players can also take damage from the shots.
Trivia
The Cannon is speculated to be based off the M1857 12-pounder Napoleon, though the colors of the in-game model being different makes it harder to really pinpoint what it's truly based on. For some what reason, this part went off unrealistic when it comes to the actual reloading method by cleaning the barrel with a sponge, insert a gunpowder cartridge, a wad, and the projectile. The wad kept everything in place, and the projectile (cannonball) will be rammed home with a ramrod. Unlike most guns, it emits smoke when fired and also causes fire when impacted. It will burn enemies (NPCs) within the impact range of the bullet. In the Yeat Event gamemode, it is possible to obtain two Cannons: one from Fort Constitution and one spawning after the obstacle in the 2093 Biome explodes.
