Strategy

  • The Bolt-Action Rifle rewards accuracy due to its potential to kill most enemies with a single headshot (even at longer distances), while the lower fire rate punishes missing slightly more.

  • Don't reload if the magazine still has at least 1 bullet while you are getting rushed down. The slower reload can be punishable due to the longer reload time.

  • If you find yourself getting rushed down but your Bolt-Action Rifle is with 0 bullets in the magazine, switch to another weapon instead of reloading. If these moments happen very often, consider using the Rifle or Revolving Rifle instead.

Pros & cons

  • Much higher damage compared to the standard Rifle.

  • Guaranteed to appear in Fort Constitution.

  • Bullets can pierce through enemies.

  • Excellent effective range.

Patch history

  • The Bolt-Action Rifle is visually based on the Gewehr 98 which was used by the German Empire in the late 1800’s and early 1900's (near World War II), and most noticeably during World War I.

  • However, the bolt handle appears bent while the Gewehr 98 uses a straight handle.

  • The Gewehr 98 utilizes stripper clips to reload. However, before the update, each round is loaded into the Weapon individually, which really isn't the ideal way to reload this Gun.

  • This is no longer the case after the animation was remade.
