Mechanics
The Merchant Wagon has two tables: one with a trading hitbox and another holding 3 items. To purchase or sell items, drag them into the trading area and interact with the Merchant. While purchases are done at the usual price, sales will have a 30% penalty (70% of the original value, rounded). The Merchant has a "budget" that goes up when purchasing items and goes down when selling items and will be unavailable from 10PM to 6AM. Coal Lantern Molotov Light Ammo Crossbow Arrows
Strategy
Basic Zombies are unable to get into the wagon, whereas the player can, making it a great spot to camp or to regenerate health.
Trivia
As of 1/3/2026, the Traveling Merchant Entity is bugged, as when showcasing a price for buying something, it will switch back to the default pose after the animation. This causes players to try to peek over the NPC’s shoulder to see the price, or attempt to purchase it, which if they don’t have enough money, will correct his animation to the listed price one. The merchant has a movement speed of 8 in the game files. Initially, the merchant sold items at a discount (for example, a molotov cost $20 instead of $35), but now he sells them at regular prices. As of 1/3/2026, there’s a bug which causes the Traveling Merchant to not spawn in. The Traveling Merchant appears to have ties to the Outlaw Faction, as it has the same Blackbeard’s flag on the back of its hoodie. Though, this could just be an oversight from the developers, and may have been just copied from the outlaw model. At night, the Traveling Merchant’s model is still within the wagon, and is actually able to be seen by the client. Instead of moving it away, it’s just in the wagon and invisible, funnily enough, the Blackbeard’s flag is still visible on the model. The 30% penalty is possibly a reference to Roblox's 30% marketplace tax. Category:Locations Traveling Merchant Traveling Merchant
