The Spectral Serpent is a Mythical fish obtainable in the Brine Pool. Due to its high rarity, it makes for a challenging catch, moving erratically across the fishing bar. When reeling it in, -80% Progress Speed is inflicted. When hooked, a will pop above the player's head, and a bell sound is played - as with all Mythical fish.

The chance of a player hooking the Spectral Serpent every cast is estimated to be 0.14%, which is lower than 1/700. Even with Aurora Borealis, X8 server luck, X32 server luck and Truffle Worms, the chance will still be lower than 7% (1 in 14.3). It is recommended to get the Invincible enchantment on good rods to make catching the Spectral Serpent much easier. An alternative for catching the Spectral Serpent is to have the Resilient enchantment on the Reinforced Rod, due to the -80% progress speed decrease, as well as baits such as Deep Coral to catch the fish more easily. Catching this fish with rod mutations such as Heavenly, Celestial, Atlantean, etc, is impossible without the help of the Wormhole enchantment or the Invincible enchantment. However it's better to use Invincible instead of Wormhole as you will have better chances to get the Spectral Serpent.

This fish model is inspired by a Ghost Leviathan from the game Subnautica. The Spectral Serpent is notoriously one of the the hardest Fish to catch due to its frequent movements and -80% progress speed, as well as being in Brine Pool and having an extremely low chance to be hooked. The Rod of The Forgotten Fang's passive is very good for farming this fish.
