Obtainment

The Dead Man's Rod is craftable at Ancient Archives upon reaching level 1000. the player will need the following ingredients: Dead Man's Treasure obtained from the Treasure Chest. Dead Man's Tentacle obtained from Sunken Chests. Dead Man's Wood purchasable for 1,000C$ C$ at Thalassar's Secret. Putrid Seaweed fishable anywhere with the Putrid enchant. 5,000,000C$ C$ Sunken Chests has a pity of 100 chests (or 10 purple chests) to obtain the Dead Man's Tentacle, or the Auric Rod. (Note that if the player reaches the pity, they will get either the tentacle or the Auric rod, and the pity will also be RESET.)

Passive

When Progress is above 50%: Tentacles will strike the fish granting +40% Progress The ability goes on a 10 seconds cooldown 100% chance to obtain one of five mutations: Tentacle Surge (7.8x) Sunken (6.3x) Greedy (5x) Wrath (4.5x) Atlantean (4x) All five mutations have equal chances.

Enchantments

The rod's best enchants are: To make up for the lack of: Long, Resilient, or preferably Mystical. Note that Mystical is an exalted enchantment, and will require Exalted Relics. To make up for the lack of on the fish: Controlled or Herculean for a bigger bar. Note that Herculean is an exalted enchantment, and will require Exalted Relics. For making, Greed, Sea Overlord or Sea King. Note that Sea Overlord is an exalted enchantment, and will require Exalted Relics. Note that Greed is an twisted enchantment, and will require Twisted Relics. Other alternatives are: For improvement: Lucky, Divine, or best of all Immortal. For overall stat improvement: Quality, Divine or preferably Breezed.

Trivia

Dead Man's Rod is one of the most tedious rods to obtain in the whole game, requiring the player to spend HOURS grinding for the rod because of the treasure map hunting process, and the way Sunken Chests are spawned, being every 1 hour and 10 minutes.
