Overview[1]
The Auric Rod is a Stage Fishing Rod obtained from Sunken Chests.
All fish caught with the Auric Rod are guaranteed to have one of the following mutations, each with an equal chance of 20% being applied: Aurous (2×) Aurelian (2.5×) Aureate (3×) Aurulent (3.5×) Aureolin (4×) This rod is currently one of the few rods with a 100% chance to apply a mutation along with the Brick Rod, and Part. With no level or money requirement, players simply need to get lucky with Sunken Chests, making it more appealing to newer players. However, the Auric Rod can only be obtained from Sunken Chests; Normal Chests at a 0.25% rate, and 2.50% from Mythic Chests, making it one of the rarest rods in the game right now. The rod is not recommended to use in Mutation Surge.

Enchantments
The best enchants for the rods are: For overall stat improvement due to the rod's overall lackluster stats, Quality. Other alternatives are: For catching larger fish, Unbreakable, Herculean, or preferably Invincible. Note that the Herculean enchantment will require Exalted Relics. For faster lure times: Swift or preferably Hasty. To catch fish more easily, Controlled, better yet Resilient or best of all Mystical. Note that the Mystical enchantment will require Exalted Relics.
Notes
Currently, Auric Rod's mutation passive has an average multiplier of 4x per fish, making better than even an Aurora Rod with the Quantum enchantment during an Aurora Borealis. There is a 100 chest pity system where opening 100 chests will award the Auric Rod if there is a Dead Man's Tentacle in the player's inventory/
Trivia
The word "Auric" is translated to "derived from gold", which aligns with the rod's description of being created from valuable gems and minerals. This rod is often one of the last rods obtained to receive the Masterline Rod, due to sunken chest often not being worth a late game player's time.
