The Riptide Rod is a Stage Fishing Rod acquired by Crafting.
The Riptide Rod is the one of the mid-game craftable rods, relying on the player's skill to make use of it's 'High Tide' passive. After 5 perfect catches, the 'High Tide' bar at the bottom of the screen fills up, giving the player 5 casts with 30% increased Luck and 35% increased Lure Speed. The bar can be filled again after 5 perfect casts.

Obtainment
The Riptide Rod can be crafted by using the Crafting station located inside the Ancient Archives Required level: 30 Price: 3x Can be obtained from a Meteor at Ancient Isle. 3x Atlantean Driftwood Can be obtained by fishing with the Trident Rod. 1x Magic Thread Can be obtained by fishing anywhere or from inside Treasure Chests found with treasure maps.
