Overview[1]
The Trident Rod is a Stage Fishing Rod obtained at the Tridents Temple for 150,000 C$.
The Trident Rod is a mid-game rod widely regarded as one of the best rods available to mid-game players due to its high luck at and two unique passive abilities. Currently, the only rival for Trident Rod for early to mid-game players is the Champions Rod, with exceptional stats and access to instant catch without the help of bait. (when using Hasty). Although the Champions Rod can catch harder fish, it does not include a money-making passive, unlike the Trident Rod. It features a golden-coloured three-pronged design resembling a traditional trident. The rod's shaft radiates a glowing yellow aura, emphasizing the sheer power it holds.

Obtainment
The Trident Rod can be obtained at a hidden temple in the Desolate Deep for 150,000C$ C$. The requirements to obtain the rod are 100% completion on the Desolate Deep Bestiary and 5 Enchant Relics. Note that any player meeting these requirements can open the door for someone else as it is server-sided, meaning that opening the door is server-wide and allows any player to enter. To get to the temple, one must swim into a coral and follow a path. Once there, any player can unlock the door to purchase the rod by placing five Enchant Relics on five different pedestals. You can either fish up the relics or purchase them from Merlin, which will cost you up to an additional 55,000C$ C$ (11,000C$ C$ each). The player must have 100% completion on the Desolate Deep Bestiary to place the relics. This brings the total cost to a staggering 205,000C$ C$.
Enchantments
The best enchantments for the rod are: For faster times due to the rod's poor: Swift or preferably Hasty. Other alternatives are: For overall stat improvement, Quality or best of all, Mystical. Note that Mystical is an exalted enchant, and will require, which are better used on late-game rods. To catch fish more easily due to the rod's low & and/or for perfect catches, Controlled, better yet Resilient. For luck improvement: Lucky, Divine, or best of all Immortal. Note that Immortal is an exalted enchant, and will require, which are better used on late-game rods. For catching heavier fish, Unbreakable or better yet, Herculean. Note that Herculean is an exalted enchant, and will require, which are better used on late-game rods. For more niche usage: To fish anywhere (Roslit Volcano's lava as an example), Invincible. Note that Invincible is a quest relic enchantment, and will require an Invincible Relic which are better used on late-game rods. For fishing for an Atlantean Enchant Relic for the Rod Of The Exalted One, Scavenger.
Notes
The chance for the Trident Rod to activate its stabbing passive is random, however, it stabs more often the faster the fish/item moves (the grey line). Hence, it will activate more often the lower the. If the player uses the Hasty Enchant and Rapid Catcher Bait, they can instantly catch fish without needing to shake the rod. And with the lowered (-15) from the Rapid Catcher Bait, the stab passive will activate more often. However, this may also means the player will need to be more skillful in using the rod if the stab passive does not activate frequently enough. The player can also use Seaweed Bait, which provides 20% more and gives 10% more. The Piercing enchant does not make fish stabbed more frequently, but still adds +15% progress speed when reeling. However, Steady or Blessed Song are still more effective Enchantments. There are Conception Conches in the hallway where the Trident Rod is purchased. The Trident Rod is used to obtain an Atlantean Enchant Relic for the Rod Of The Exalted One. The Trident Rod is mandatory to obtain the Thalassar's ruin.

What does this mean?
Fisch's in-game currency. A fish's value is its documented average sell price in C$ — what it sells for at its average weight. A rod's value is its documented shop cost. Both are in-game facts from the community wiki, not a trading consensus. Values are not comparable across games.

Patch history
The Trident Rod is one of the cheaper mid-game rods in the game, requiring five Enchant Relics on top of the 150,000C$ C$, bringing the total cost to 205,000C$ C$, although you can fish for Enchant Relics at The Depths or anywhere else. The Trident Rod is widely regarded as one of the best mid-game rods. However, the Mythical Rod is also another contender with its superior Mythical mutation passive, increasing the price of fish by 5.5x. But the trident rod is still superior to the Mythical Rod because of its stab ability and its high, being able to catch harder fish. The Trident rod was the first rod ever to receive a slash ability. Prior to Update 1.06.1, players could purchase the Trident Rod without placing Enchant Relics by glitching through the door using the /e pumpkin emote while stuck between a door and a wall. This glitch has since been patched, and the door must now be opened in order to purchase the rod. However, the rod can still be purchased without 100% Desolate Deep Bestiary completion if someone who completed the Desolate Deep Bestiary opens the door for the player. Stats buffed in Update 1.29.0. This rod is required to unlock the Thalassar's Ruin, acting like a key to open the door. This makes it the only rod that can be consumed and must be bought again. This rod is also required for The Guide final quest for the Castbound alongside 14 other rods. Category:Desolate Deep Category:Fishing Rods with passives
