The rod has a passive that increases the chance of catching, making it good for both general use and miscellaneous use. The rod can be obtained after finishing the puzzle at The Keeper's Secret in Mushgrove Swamp by placing with specific mutations. This rod is usually not recommended to use as the main rod as it lacks an ability for farming. It is usually obtained during late-mid game as unlocking the rod requires time and other rods such as Crystalized Rod. Obtainment
To obtain the rod, the player have to go to Mushgrove Swamp and find the hidden non-collidable wall that leads to an elevator. Going inside the elevator will take the player into a new location called The Keeper's Secret, which presents the player with a total of 7 different pedestals to place 7 different mutated Enchant Relics on. The player will need to obtain the following Enchant Relics in order to unlock the rod: After obtaining all of these relics, the player can place all of them on the podiums, and the rod will appear before them. The player will also be rewarded 3 Exalted Relics for placing all 7 relics on their podiums. Any relics placed on the podiums will disappear once the player leaves, similar to when unlocking the Trident. Hence, the player may place all the relics more than once (after leaving) to receive 3 Exalted Relics each time. The player may buy relics from Merlin for each ( total) then appraise them for the different mutations. The estimated cost to appraise for the relics are but with mutation surge. Besides Atlantean and Crystalized, the player can appraise to get the required relics much faster, or by fishing in The Depths during Mutation Surges to get the required Enchant Relics. From player experience, it is estimated that appraising for the other 5 Relics will cost about (with mutation surge) or up to (without a Mutation surge).
Enchantments
Optimal Grinding: Scavenger to pair with rod’s passive. Other choices: Swift or better yet, Hasty to drastically shorten the luring time. Mystical to improve the overall stats especially the. Note that Mystical is an Exalted enchantment, require, Quality as an alternative. Herculean + Cryogenic to have a more stable fishing and easier perfect catch. Note that Herculean is an Exalted enchantment, require, Controlled as an alternative.
Notes
Despite any player being able to obtain it due to there not being a level cap, it is strongly advised to get other rods before this rod due to the difficulty of obtaining it's required relics. The rod bears similar stats to the Rod of the Depths, but it is to be kept in mind that through the requirements, it may indirectly cost much more to obtain, having more hefty requirements. The requirements are not an easy task, requiring a variety of Enchant Relics with different Mutations, some of which are only obtainable with certain rods (e.g. Trident Rod, Crystalized Rod). The Exalted Relics gotten from unlocking this Rod doesn't count towards the Bestiary.
Trivia
All requirement relics (except Crystalized and Atlantean relic) can be obtained through appraising or by naturally catching the relics with the needed mutations. The Rod Of The Exalted One is one of the few rods that does not require (not directly). Before, the elevator taking the player to the rod was just an Easter Egg, originally having no usage. The potential cost of the rod can be more than 150,000C$ C$: Unlocking Trident Rod requiring 5 (8800*5= 44,000 C$) Unlocking the rod requiring 7 (8800*7= 61,600 C$) Unlocking Crystalized Rod requiring 35,000 C$ C$.
