The crop hierarchy
Multi-harvest beats single-harvest at equal rarity, almost always. Every extra harvest is a free roll on mutations and another load for the Bargain counter. Check each crop's page in our crops database for its harvest type and rarity before committing plot space.
High-rarity crops (Mythic → Limited) are where the ceiling lives: bigger base sell price means the aurora mutation and a good haggle multiply something already large. The affordable Legendary multi-harvest crops are the mid-game workhorses — the Mythic+ tier is what you graduate into.
Limited/event crops double as trade assets — they stop being obtainable when the event ends, so their value curve keeps going after the update cycle moves on.

- Defense pets (the Bald Eagle archetype)
don't earn directly, but every crop NOT stolen at Nightfall is income protected. If you log off with anything ripe, these are mandatory.
- Mutation-odds boosters
the highest-ceiling passive in the game; they multiply your best harvests, not your average ones.
- Growth/harvest accelerators
more cycles per day compounds everything else quietly.
- Pure money passives
fine early, outscaled later.
A sample "correct" plot, mid-game
Most slots on Legendary multi-harvest crops, two or three slots on your highest-rarity Mega Seed experiments, one defender stationed by the valuable beds, one mutation booster equipped, and the whole harvest batched into a single Bargain right before Nightfall. That's the compounding engine running at full speed — the tier list tells you which specific crops and pets fill each role best this patch.
