Description

The Body Guard was a unit spawned by the Crook Boss at Level 1 and 2. As with other units, it started from the end of the map path and moved towards the entrance of the map. Whenever there was an enemy in its range, the Body Guard would stop moving to shoot at the enemies. It would then continue walking when there were no enemies left in its range. The Body Guard initially had a spawnrate of 60 seconds, which was decreased to 45 seconds if its parent Crook Boss was at Level 2. There was a limit of one unit per Crook Boss at Levels 1 and 2, which limited the amount of Body Guards it could spawn.

Appearance

The Body Guard had pale skin. It had grey pants, black cotton gloves, and a buttoned tuxedo with short sleeves that had dark grey outlines and black shoes. It also wore a grey necktie and was faceless. The Body Guard wielded a Kimber Covert in its right hand.

Strategy

You should not rely too much on the Body Guard because of its slow spawnrate. You will need to wait 60 seconds for a Body Guard to spawn if you place down a Crook Boss and immediately upgrade it to Level 1. The Body Guard can deal full collision damage to enemies with defense, like the Giant Boss. However, the Body Guard's ranged damage is still affected by enemies with defense. The Body Guard cannot detect hidden and Flying enemies, but they can still be damaged when the Body Guard collides with them. However, this is likely unfavorable as the Body Guard's damage comes primarily from firing at enemies rather than collision. The Ace Pilot cannot give the Body Guard hidden detection. The Body Guard cannot collide with ghost enemies, like the Soul. On maps with multiple paths, only one Body Guard will spawn per Level 1 and 2 Crook Boss. The Body Guard will go down a random path. The Body Guard will struggle against fast enemies, like the Shock or Glitch, as they can run into the Body Guard without taking much damage. The Body Guard is not affected by any buff or debuff. The Body Guard will struggle against any enemy with abilities that damage units, because of its low health. For example, if the Fallen King uses its Stomp attack, and a Body Guard is caught in the attack, it is instantly killed.

Patch history

In the Frost Invasion Update, the Body Guard and Body Guards 1 replaced the Crook. The Body Guard was duplicated for the Level 3 Crook Boss unit, the Body Guards 1.
