Description

The Rifle Sentry, internally referred to as Sentry2, is the second sentry that is spawned by the Engineer. It spawns when the Engineer is at Level 2-3. It does not spawn on the path and instead on a ground spot in the Engineer's sentry placement range. It takes about 1.5 seconds second to build the Rifle Sentry. There is a limit of two units per Engineer at Level 3 and three units at Level 4, limiting the amount of Rifle Sentries it can spawn. In PVP mode, only two can be spawned at at Level 2-3.

Appearance

The Rifle Sentry is a quadpod device constructed out of metal, colored black and white. It is a sentry that uses a mounted rifle to attack enemies. It also has a red laser mounted on top. When the Rifle Sentry is spawned by a Engineer at Level 4, the Rifle Sentry has a red shield, which disappears if the Engineer is stunned.

Strategy

The Rifle Sentry can do well against enemies that appear early on, such as the Abnormal Boss or Mystery. The Rifle Sentry does not have Hidden detection, meaning you have to either rely on the Engineer for hidden detection or use other towers. Since the Engineer by itself has low DPS at the levels the Rifle Sentry is spawned, other towers like the Minigunner are recommended. The Rifle Sentry is not affected by any buff or debuff.
