Description
The Pyromancer is an intermediate tower that costs 1,250 Coins to buy from the store. It is capable of dealing burn damage to enemies, damaging them over time even when not directly targeted. At higher levels, it can also melt defense by up to 50% of the listed value. For example, an enemy with 50% defense will have its defense decreased to 25%. If an enemy is set alight, the flames will be applied to the enemy until the burn time runs out. There are two types of damage the Pyromancer can apply. The first is Normal Damage which is applied every 0.258 when the enemy is colliding with the Pyromancer's flame. This flame can initially only hit one enemy, though it upgrades it increases to five. This can pierce through multiple enemies. The second is Burn Damage which is applied for every second an enemy is set alight. Both damage types can damage Lead enemies. The Pyromancer can also detect Hidden enemies at Level 1+. The Pyromancer will attack any enemy, even if the enemy is on fire, as long as it can detect it, though it will prioritize enemies that are not on fire. The Pyromancer is best combined with other towers since it deals little damage by itself but can deal area of effect. Some enemies are immune to burn, like the Molten. This does not mean the Pyromancer cannot attack them; it only means that it cannot light them on fire.

Strategy
The Pyromancer is considered an all-round tower, due to it being useful at every point of the match. It can be used to easily deal with weak enemy hordes like the Normal, Heavy or Quick and at higher Levels, it can even take out high health enemies like the Normal Boss and Elite Abnormal. The Pyromancer will set every enemy in its range on fire. In what order the Pyromancer will choose its target is based on its targeting. If there is only one detectable enemy in the Pyromancer's range, then it will always target that enemy. This also occurs if all current enemies in the Pyromancer's range is set on fire. The Pyromancer can also be used to melt an enemy's Defense by half. The Pyromancer can be used alongside the Freezer/Frost Blaster, the Electroshocker and the Toxic Gunner/Jester to further melt the enemy's Defense, though it cannot be used alongside its golden variant, the Golden Pyromancer or other burn defense melting sources. As such, with these towers, an enemy's Defense can be removed entirely. Do note that only the Toxic Gunner or Jester is required to remove defense entirely, though other defense melting towers can be used to speed up the process. This can be useful since it can harshly decrease high Defense enemies like the Vindicator, Reaver, or Slow King. The Pyromancer is less effective against those with Burn Immunity, such as the Molten. However, the Pyromancer can still deal non-burn damage to them. Due to the Pyromancer's low range, the DJ Booth is recommended to increase this tower's range. The Pyromancer is best placed near the beginning of the path.

Patch history
When the game was in Alpha, and for a while after BETA release, the Pyromancer's upgrade stats were not displayed on its upgrade description. It was simply referred to as "sans flamey gun". Prior to the Overhaul Update, there was a bug where any Range Buff applied to the Pyromancer (including Platinum and Golden skins) did not affect enemies in their extra range, only affecting them in their initial range. The Pyromancer was inspired by the Pyro from Team Fortress 2. The Pyromancer was originally based on the Flamethrower from Tower Battles. Prior to the Overhaul Update, this tower used to slow down enemies. After the Overhaul Update, the Pyromancer sped up enemies that were on fire, though this has been removed. In the Frost Invasion Event, the Pyromancer dealt twice as much damage to enemies that spawned there. The Pyromancer used to appear alongside the Scout, Commander, Sniper and Minigunner on the "Triumph" screen before the Community Maps Update. The Pyromancer has one of the oldest firing sounds in the game, having kept it since 2020. Despite having the "-mancer" suffix, the Pyromancer is not a mage. The Pyromancer in the game has been shown and said to be a great cook multiple times.
