Overview[1]

The Magnum, or more specifically, The.44 Magnum, is a powerful 6-shot revolver released on October 17th, 2020, as a part of the v1.0.0 pre-beta release of Criminality. It can be unlocked at level 44, or instantly with the Armory Gamepass. It can be purchased exclusively at the Armory for $1,200. The sidearm specializes in extremely high damages (2-1 shots to down an unarmored player) and pinpoint accuracy. Players that use this weapon need and must learn to compensate for its high recoil, and the main gimmick of this firearm; 0.1 DELAY UPON PRESSING THE TRIGGER As this feature alone can make aiming much more difficult when firing. The Magnum is best used at a certain range, as it is incredibly difficult to operate in Close-Quarters-Combat[CQC]. You'll be fine at medium and long-range encounters as long as you hit your shots. However, close quarters on the streets might be a small issue. Still, with average use, you'll be capable of dealing with melee users. Very good to use if you know how to aim. The Desert Eagle or 'Deagle' is this weapon's side grade. It has a higher fire rate and houses an extra bullet. The Magnum can be considered a direct competitor to the Deagle; both have high recoil, the capability to two-shot to the head (Magnum 1 shots at close range), and very high overall damage. The Magnum has more damage but a lower ammunition reserve and bigger recoil though the Magnum tends to be more deadly when mastered. (Magnum can now kill a player in 1 shot to head at close range, but has to be held instead of clicking to shoot.)

Usage & Tactics

Due to how you handle the weapon model, players should choose the Magnum as a moderate-range weapon. While it is possible to score two-shot headshot kills at medium to close ranges, it is also possible to shoot targets at extended ranges with the same results. It is recommended in CQC to jump and hip fire to help make the slow fire rate less of a problem. To help with the weapon's medium and long-range usage, it is advised to bring a close-range weapon, such as a melee or SMG. Another use you could put to this weapon is if someone you were having a melee fight with decides to start running away, aim and shoot with this gun once towards them (body shot or headshot). They're done for if you've done enough damage beforehand (Which, if they're running away, that probably means you did). The Magnum is for you if you want a rewarding weapon with a challenging learning curve. Capable of outperforming nearly any other gun when mastered.

Pros & Cons

Very high damage. Cheap. One-shot headshots unarmored opponents at close range. Viable at every range. Good iron sights. Good hip fire. High Mobility. Deals 3 extra fire damage over 1 second with the Inferno Skin as well as having a 2.04x dmg boost on headshot instead of 2x. The inferno also has a small reduction to damage falloff allowing it to deal up to 1.05x more damage at extremely long range. Low RPM. Higher learning curve than other weapons. Low ammo reserve and capacity.

Patch history

The Magnum used to be the only gun in the game that used a 'hammer time' mechanic. This was later changed with the introduction of the Hawkeye in the V2.1 Brawl Update. In the V1.2 Update the firemode was changed to the semi-automatic firing mode as the default one, however in the V1.3 Update it was reverted back. In the V2.0.2 Update the Inferno Skin was added which makes the Magnum deal 5 fire damage over 1 second after it hits an enemy and 2% extra damage on headshots and slightly reduced damage falloff (The fire damage has been buffed to 6.66 since then). Ironically, the Magnum's max damage range was nerfed in V2.0, with the skin's pay-to-win effects being used to counteract the nerf. The skin also lets the user down another player with 2 shots to arms/torso from a similar distance of the mare. The Inferno Skin was nerfed in the V2.2.2 Update removing the ability to apply fire to downed players on casual mode, as well as nerfing the fire damage from 6.66 to around 3. A video showcasing the inferno vs regular magnum range can be found here: https://youtu.be/hzejPFsWq1A This weapon's shop description is taken from the first half of a CS:GO's R8 Revolver description. The Magnum deals the second most damage for any publicly available pistol. The weapon's appearance and name is inspired from its real-world counterpart, The Colt Anaconda. Double-action pistols and revolvers commonly have a heavier trigger pull which makes sense with it's hammer time mechanic. Category:Guns
