Overview[1]

The BFG-50 is an anti-material sniper rifle loaded with explosive.50 BMG cartridges. These are effective at all feasible ranges and can kill any target, armored or not, with one round. It is currently the most ranged expensive weapon in-game, with very high accuracy (not including hip-fire) and damage. Although being the strongest sniper rifle in pure firepower, its mobility and reserve ammo are very low compared to other weapons. It is recommended to use the BFG-50 with nearby cover readily accessible, and on an elevated spot such as a rooftop to avoid counter-fire. The BFG-50 has a feature unique to sniper rifles that allow players to find snipers more easily - aiming down sights with the rifle will emit a bright white light (known as glint) on the objective lens of the scope, making the user easier to spot by other players.

Usage & Tactics

Thanks to its explosive rounds, aiming at players is much simpler while utilizing this anti-materiel rifle when compared to other snipers and high-powered pistols like the Mare or Magnum. Instead of having to aim for the head to make every shot count and for a more efficient job, you only need to aim in the general direction of your target(s). However, it is still recommended to aim for the torso at least when targeting a player, as explosion damage may not cut it. The explosive rounds also make it, to some degree, crowd-control capable, behaving somewhat similarly to a Grenade. When targeting crowds, try aiming for the center of the group to maximize the damage potential of a single shot. A rule of thumb is to treat it as a glorified RPG with an even more expensive price tag. Unfortunately, you only have one shot in the chamber before needing to reload. In most cases, such as dealing with one or two players, this should not be a problem thanks to the explosive rounds. However, if you miss completely, your target will realize they are being shot at by a highly dangerous player and will do one of two things: Flight: Bail, seek cover, and get away as far as possible. Fight: Seek you out and return fire. If your target has chosen this option, find cover and reload or bail to avoid death. Thus, accuracy is still paramount to a certain degree when trying to take out a target in a single shot.

Pros & Cons

High explosive damage to those near the bullet. Near instant bullet travel. Can instant kill on headshot regardless of armor. Has basically infinite range. Can dismember right arms, making the victim unable to fight. Has a limited skin able with a bigger explosion and more damage. (Cupid) Extremely expensive. Unreliable when hip-firing. Makes you a target amongst the server. Emits large glint while ADS. Expensive refill price. Low reserve ammo. Large weapon model Missing your shot alerts your target(s). Very low mobility. Unlocked at level 80. Takes up 8 inventory slots. Cant 1-Shot Corruptis But Can Ragdoll.

Strategy

BFG-50 stands for Big Fucking Gun - 50 caliber; This is not a joke. (Serbu Firearms is known for not taking the naming of their weapons seriously. Although to be fair it is a big fucking gun.) The BFG has a 2 stage damage system, similar to that of the M320 and RPG meaning the round will not explode unless traveled a minimum distance. This is a much shorter than the M320 and RPG but at very close ranges you will only have a normal.50 BMG round. This un-explosive round will deal less damage, leaving players alive but downed if the head is not hit, this also makes the BFG one of the only public weapons to be able to remove the right arm. The BFG-50 is rather infamously known in Phantom Forces for how frequently it appears in the hands of the inexperienced snipers, due to its universal one shot torso kill distance, and its unlock rank being much lower than other similarly performing anti-material rifles. This weapon's appearance and name is inspired from its real-world counterpart, the BFG-50. This is the first armory-only weapon to not be unlocked with the armory gamepass but only with it's level requirement, being unlocked at rank 80. The BFG-50 is the second weapon manufactured by Serbu Firearms to make an appearance in Criminality, the first being the Super-Shorty. The BFG-50 is the first and currently the only anti-materiel rifle available to the general playerbase, utilizing much more powerful ammunition (.50 BMG) compared to the other snipers.
