Appearance

Flutter is a butterfly with a pink, heart-shaped head and pink legs, but she flies predominantly despite having those legs. She has two thin black antennae topped with purple hearts by the tips. She has cyan eyeshadow above her eyes and two eyelashes at the bottom of each eye. She wears a simple, light purple dress and has dark purple fur going around her neck (which is confirmed by to be part of her body). Her wings are cyan with white heart outline details on the forewings and two small hindwings stylistically connected to the larger ones. She has no visible mouth or arms. Although her torso is colored a deep purple, it is unknown whether it's a shading illusion to represent the underside of her dress, her actual torso color, or a piece of clothing.

Personality

On her Introduction Card and her UGC Items, Flutter is described as a kind, cheerful, and caring Toon, but while interactions with some Toons adhere to the peppy traits, others reveal she actually isn't as joyous as they describe her. In fact, she easily gets frustrated over rather small things, such as still to this day being upset about the many losses she suffered on 's Game Show (even complaining in front of Vee herself about it), abruptly whining about her troubles in front of, and getting upset over 's occasional inability to understand a currently unknown part about her, whether he was referring to her preferably silent way of communication being unintelligible at times, or her emotions being difficult to read deeply and thoroughly. and tell her that she's more helpful than she comes across as initially, but is usually not credited for it, even when Toons like compliment her endurance. Despite her tendency to be frustrated or upset, she's said to have a good sense of humor and is proficient at making others laugh, whether intentionally or not. Her dynamic with her older brother is that of care, understanding and fun; his constant worrying for her annoys her, but he does at least agree to not go too far with it, and despite pointing out each other's differences frequently, they love and care deeply for each other.

Requirement Strategies

For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more. For the second requirement, have a Distractor Toon bring to the elevator to you so you can get aggro. Playing as also helps getting Research faster because of his Passive Ability. This will be easier if Twisted Flutter is on the Daily Twisted Board.

Strategies

Flutter is a decent distractor Toon with above average Movement Speed and Stamina, with her low extractability Stats and mobility based Active Ability further inducing those who want to play as her to distract. The main issue with Flutter is her average Stealth, which may cause issues given that most Toons in the game either have the same or lower Stealth. With Trinkets like and, Flutter is able to outwalk most Twisteds in the game, save for, (when enraged), and a few others. For that reason, looping the said Twisteds around an island or sprint-tapping may be a viable choice, with Stamina management being the main issue, which is where Flutter's Active Ability comes into place. Flutter's Ability, is quite useful for surviving and escaping dangerous Twisteds, such as when she applies the Debuff or and also saving up Stamina when low at it, given the distance she gets and the amount of that's recovered during that time. Her Ability can also be used to dash away from Twisteds when Panic Mode begins, causing most of them to stay behind even with their speed buff. Do note the Ability's cooldown however, as its long enough to screw you up if you're relying on it for distance. Since the Ability gives her 67.5 Walk Speed/77.5 Run Speed, it’ll allow her to outwalk and outrun every Twisted for less than a second, which can help her escape Twisteds like Twisted Pebble, or even max speed, though it’s not always the most reliable. Cutting corners with her Ability is best if you’re specifically trying to escape, as you simultaneously build distance and break line of sight.

Patch history

It is unknown how all the Toons are capable of understanding Flutter despite the fact she never talks (though in 's case, his interaction with her either meant he can't understand what she's saying or her emotions are what was hard to understand about her). It is also unknown whether or not humans or non-Toon entities in general can understand her (though strangely, there exists a storyboard with her and which shows her dialogue written the exact same way she "talks"). According to Dandy's gossip about Flutter, she is able to sneeze despite her lack of a nose, further emphasizing the cartoon logic all the Toons possess. Flutter's 3D model uses Dandy's torso and legs, making her appear chubby. She has also frequently been drawn with a wider torso than most of the other female Toons, which could imply this is her canon body shape. Flutter and her older brother have numerous motifs and themes, whether similar or different, that establish their connection; Their names are ways of referring to a group of butterflies, and describing how they fly (a flutter and a flight). They have fur around their thoraxes, which is traditionally a trait moths have instead of butterflies. Their color palettes both involve the use of pink and turquoise. Their Twisted alternates never stop actively moving when roaming the map. Their body shapes and heights seem to add on to a duo trope where one member is short and plump, while the other is tall and lanky. Their Abilities involve spinning and boosting Movement Speed. Flutter is energetic and mostly peppy, while Flyte is more relaxed and laid-back.
