Appearance

Scraps is a yellow paper craft that resembles a cat. Her head is hexagonal with pointed, salmon-colored ears that each have a vertical fold down the middle. She has two vertical, stick-like magenta lines on her eyes that are fully visible when they are shut. She wears a white dress resembling an upside-down cupcake liner and has a tail poking through it. Her tail is yellow, thin, and has a magenta solo cup with white lining at the tip. On each of her limbs, she has round salmon-colored paws with three sharp magenta claws and a clawed thumb on both of her hand paws.

Personality

Scraps is a kind and artistic Toon who loves making arts & crafts and cares about the well-being of the other Toons, especially her younger brother. She is sometimes airheaded and forgets to do things, such as in her interactions with and. She also looks for multiple ways to get materials for her art, such as with for his ink and even asked about using ketchup as an alternative (to which both have refused to that). Despite not quite being a cat, she has many tendencies of one, such as liking yarn, hissing in some of her dialogues, getting on all fours when startled, liking fish, disliking water (though this may also be due to her being made of paper), and wagging her tail when annoyed or angry. She also may get somewhat aggressive and act a bit immature in some situations, such as in her interactions with and another with. She also may have a slight grudge towards Shrimpo, as she mentions him in her interactions with and. Overall, she is a mature Toon for the most part and cares about her brother, Goob, making sure that she is there for him.

Requirement Strategies

For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more. For the second requirement, have a Distractor Toon bring to the elevator to you so you can get aggro. Playing as also helps you get Research faster because of his Passive Ability. This will be easier if Twisted Goob is on the Daily Twisted Board.

Strategies

Scraps possesses the best Stamina stat in the game (tied with, and ) and an Ability that has the potential to help her escape from Twisteds or to quickly get to the Elevator during Panic Mode or get to Machines faster—granted there's another Toon or Machine nearby. These traits make her best suited to Survival. While her below-average Movement Speed does partially negate her large Stamina pool, Items like Speed Candies or Boxes o' Chocolates and Trinkets such as are more than capable of turning her into a force to be reckoned with. Otherwise, she doesn't excel at anything in particular. Hovering your mouse over nearby Toons on PC or being in their proximity on Mobile can quickly identify players or Machines with a white outline to grapple onto them. This is useful for noticing teammates through walls, but remember that her Ability requires line of sight, however, if the target moves behind an object, you will continue to move to their location when you had initially grappled anyways. This could also work on Machines, but it is less efficient as you cannot rely on Machines to spawn in the right spots every run and grappling on Machines should more often than not be used if planning to extract them, but it is still a helpful tool. On later Floors, where Machine count increases, escape becomes easier due to the abundance of things to grapple onto. However, do keep in mind that in Blackouts, there may be Twisteds near the Machine that may hit you right after using your Ability due to its slight endlag.

Patch history

In v0.7.1, Scraps' Ability was buffed to allow her to grab onto Machines as well, instead of just Toons. In that update, a bug where grappling onto a Toon moving behind an object made her Ability fail and make her stuck was patched. Scraps is the older sister of. There was a Scraps Introduction Card under the Elevator in-game, used for the arrows to know where to point during Panic Mode. Though her appearance is cat-like, she has stated that she isn't an actual cat and just has a feline appearance. Despite this, Scraps claims to have an appetite for fish (which can be seen in a dialogue with ) and hisses in some lines of dialogue (one with and one with ). She also likes yarn, as stated in 's dialogue, which can be seen in her room—a common stereotype for cats. Similar to a real cat, her tail wags/thrashes when she's annoyed or angry, as shown in her interaction with. Seen in an animation with, her tail might give a small swish if she's happy/excited. In an animation, she jumps on the buzzer scared when Vee appears next to her, with her pose being similar to how cats react when they are scared by something in cartoons. Her name, Scraps, is a term used to describe small, leftover pieces of materials, especially taken from a bigger piece. This name may have been given to her due to her being a paper craft, which are usually made from scraps of paper. Her cobbled-together appearance may also be a reason for this name, being a mixture of materials rather than just one type (paper, plastic cup, crayon, etc).
