The Musician spawns in with a Banjo. They can heal other nearby players (but not themselves) by playing it. The Musician class does not spawn with a melee weapon. The Musician can heal 5/3 (about 1.67) health every time they use a Banjo. This has a 1 second cooldown, meaning that spamming the Banjo won't make the healing any faster than this. Banjo Can heal other players by playing the Banjo. Healing is very minimal. Doesn't spawn with a melee weapon. Becomes obsolete later into the game when healing items are easy to obtain.

Strategies
Try to heal your teammates in safe places. Healing in dangerous areas like the Castle or Fort Constitution is not recommended. If you have a weapon, you can attack in between the Banjo healing's cooldowns to make the most out of the class. Can be useful with Ironclad due to being able to make up for them taking more hits from enemies. Having multiple Musicians is an option to heal much faster and to heal each other. Never choose the Musician for a solo run, as it is completely useless without teammates. Using a Musician in a solo run is worse than using None, since using None will spawn you with a weapon. You can stay behind your teammates so you can heal them without taking damage. Musicians should ask Survivalists or Vampires for their Shovel to get a weapon. A Musician playing their Banjo can allow Vampires to outheal the damage the sun deals to them. The Musician can be extremely helpful in Nightmare Mode as passive healing is disabled. Musicians can be paired with the Necromancer to make up for the health cost when reviving enemies.

The Musician has the same hat the Banker Zombie. There is a bug in which playing the Banjo next to a corpse will cause it to regain health, but not revive. This can cause enemies to target dead players, making them a useful but temporary distraction. The Musician is often considered one of the worst classes due to its unreliability and the obvious fact that you cannot heal yourself with the Banjo. While the healing is also not a reliable source of healing for the whole run. The Musician's hat is called "Top Hat" and is available on the market place.
