Overview[1]
Reincarnating enemies makes you lose 10 hp. The Necromancer is a support Class in Dead Rails.
Cost: 35 Bonds The Necromancer is a class in Dead Rails that can be purchased from the Tailor for 35 Bonds. Its benefits include being able to reanimate any enemy killed with a melee weapon with a 25% chance. However, the Necromancer takes 10 damage upon reanimating. After getting reanimated, said entities will become allies and act aggressive towards any other enemy. Can revive dead enemies with a 25% chance upon killing them via melee, making them turn into the player's allies. Weaker enemies can serve as useful distractions, while stronger enemies can result in a huge advantage when raiding. Synergizes well with the Jade Sword. Its chance to revive enemies stacks with the Jade Sword. If they stack additively, the revival chance would be 75%. If they stack multiplicatively, the revival chance would be 62.5%. Only melee weapons can reanimate enemies, so converting a Werewolf or Outlaw can be incredibly dangerous. The chance for an enemy to be reanimated is only 25%, which is pretty unreliable. Reanimating with melee costs 10 HP, which can quickly add up over time; and may also cause unexpected deaths. Enemy corpses cannot be harvested if they are reanimated unless they are manually killed. Sometimes reincarnating is not needed, but can't be manually turned off without a Ranged Weapon. As such, it is losing health without consent. You can't grab allies or weld them to the train, so they can get distracted by other enemies while you're driving and die.

Strategies
The Jade Sword is highly recommended while playing as a Necromancer, since the resurrection chances stack. For more information on how to easily obtain the Jade Sword, please read these articles. Bringing a teammate is highly recommended when using this class since there's a good chance you may die after a few revivals when you have low health. After successfully reviving one enemy, it is possible to hit enemies distracted by the revived entity and revive even more entities as well, resulting in a useful chain reaction. Always have at least one ranged weapon to prevent health loss when unneeded. At night, stay in the train with the newspaper strategy and melee enemies that spawn on your train after they horde to prevent your allies from distracting enemies away. (especially useful for werewolf night or full moon) Due to a bug where allies aren't immune to melee weapons, you can kill every single soldier in the initial safe zone, and you'll have armed allies from the start. The soldiers in the turrets depend on them to attack, so you can place them there to fire automatically.

Trivia
Despite having the ability to reanimate the dead, this class is still not recommended by the community due to how low the chance it is, along with the unwanted health losing. The above isn't helped by both Eggslinger and Packmaster being more reliable, especially the former which spawns eggs even if dead. If a Necromancer revives a Zombie, it will change into any of the following variants; Sheriff Zombie, Ironclad Zombie; any of the three normal: Normal Zombie, Runner Zombie and Dynamite Zombie. If a Horse is revived, it will change into any of the 6 color variants, and remove its Saddle if it had one. Category:Classes Category:Gameplay Category:Ability Classes Category:Revival
