Town The Sheriff Zombie is a gunslinger Zombie variant in Dead Rails.
Sheriff Zombies are Enemies in the game. They have a 5% chance of replacing any Regular Zombie. This means they can sometimes show up in Abandoned Buildings or Towns, but they don't appear very often. However, the bigger the Town, the higher the chance of finding them. Sheriff Zombies wear a black cowboy hat and a sheriff uniform. Sheriff Zombies use a modified version of the Revolver that does less damage with much higher spread. If a player gets hit, the damage takes away a little more than a quarter of their health. Sheriff Zombies are similar to Normal Zombies in terms of health. As of the January 31st update, their shots wake up sleeping zombies in a massive radius. This makes them potentially a huge threat for players who are unable to deal with the large numbers of zombies.

Strategies
Try to shoot them from a safe distance, preferably using a Bolt Action Rifle or a Navy Revolver due to the smaller chance of getting hit at longer ranges. This is very important during the newest update that causes gunshots to wake up zombies in a massive radius. Treat them as a Revolver-Armed Outlaw with worse aim. Prioritize taking out the Sheriff Zombies first (or after Dynamite Zombies) as, even though they have terrible aim, they can kill the player in 2 hits if they manage to get headshots. If encountered at the start of a game, it's recommended to enter the Train cabin and kill them using a Melee Weapon. Use heavy attacks to ensure they die before they get any shots in from the cabin windows. If you hear a bullet sound but no Outlaw soundtrack inside a Town or an Abandoned Building, there is a Sheriff Zombie there. Try moving constantly on either left or right around it so they cant lock onto your position.
Trivia
These Zombies were possibly Sheriffs who lived in the Sheriff’s Offices. Runner Zombies, Dynamite Zombies, Zombie Soldiers, Sheriff Zombies, Scientist Zombies, Captain Prescott, and Goliath all use the “Zombie Face” face. Can be affected by the Flying Blood glitch where dead entities bleed on themselves which makes them unable to be dragged and fly if they are unstored. Due to a bug, a Sheriff Zombie sometimes won't have its uniform.
