Lobby The Tailor is an utility building in Dead Rails that only appears in the Lobby.
The Tailor is an utility building in the Lobby where players can change or purchase Classes with Bonds. NPC
The NPC that used to sell Classes inside the Tailor is also called the Tailor. The Tailor doesn't actually join the gameplay, but he used to be able to be interacted with by pressing the interact button/"E" on keyboard, which opens the menu to buy Classes. Other than that, the Tailor doesn't have any other purposes. He has been removed after the Lobby Rework, and so is his Train variant counterpart, the Conductor. However, the latter was added back after the Oil Refinery Update.
Trivia
The Tailor building is the first Building in the Lobby that isn't found in the actual game. The second is the Train Station and the third is the Train Garage. The Tailor has a very similar outfit to the Banker Zombie, indicating a possible correlation. You can clip your camera through the door in the Tailor to see inside. Unfortunately, it seems to be empty. The Tailor, Conductor, and Banker are the only human NPCs that spawn in the Lobby, but not in the actual game. There are 10 human NPCs in total, the others being Outlaws, Soldier, 2 types of Covenants, Yeat, Elves and Santa. Elves, Santa, Tailor, Conductor and Banker all use the "Default Face" face. The room behind the class selection NPC contains a drawer, mirror, and a camera model. The camera model is actually somewhat functional and is used when a player is selecting their class. It is possible to appear in other peoples' class selection menus by glitching into the room and walking in front of this camera Nikola Tesla replaced the Tailor for the Halloween Event. The drawers in the class select actually have insides, despite never being seen. Oddly enough, the left drawer uses the correct wood, while the right uses the basic part coloration and a plastic material. The back room in the tailor is actually flipped, with the door being on the complete opposite side of the room. Whereas there is no official reasoning, it's likely to stop users from seeing usernames through the wall, or because the door is actually offset more right than the one into the back room.
