Northstar Whale is a Limited fish found in the Glacial Ridge during the Fischmas 2 event.
The Northstar Whale is a Limited fish obtainable in Fischmas 2. Due to its high rarity, it makes for a challenging catch, moving erratically across the fishing bar. When reeling it in, a -90% progress speed is applied. When hooked, a pops above the player's head and a bell sound is played - as with all Limited fish.

The Northstar Whale is the 2nd rarest fish in Fischmas 2, with the first one being the Cryoshock Serpent. The Northstar Whale is a fish that is required for the Fischmas 2025 quest (the "strange whale"). It has no preferred bait, so rods with a lot of luck (Polaris Serenade, Onirifalx, Santa's Miracle Rod, Ruinous Oath, Blade of Glorp, and Fabulous Rod) are recommended to catch the fish. The Northstar Whale is required to finish Santa's questline as well as to craft the North Pole rod The Northstar Whale also has an ability similar to the Scylla, which causes the control bar and the progress meter to decrease. If the player catches the Northstar Whale using Rod of the Exalted One, you are guaranteed to get the secret Frostwhale bobber as a reference to the stream when Carbon lost an Eternal Frostwhale using the Rod of the Exalted One, also known as the Whale Incident.
