The Flimsy Rod is a Stage Fishing Rod obtained at the start of the game.

The is the first Rod the player obtains upon joining the game for the first time. This rod has no obvious drawbacks but is generally considered one of the worst rods in the game due to its lack of stats. The Flimsy Rod is the player's starter rod of the game, alongside with the Buddy Bond Rod, both rods are able to be obtained for free. The can also be used to get the.

Notes

This rod is best suited for collecting trash to complete your bestiary. After you obtain a better rod, it will go unused unless you're fishing in the The Ocean or The Depths where trash is abundant. It's best to abstain from enchanting this rod due to its abysmal stats.

Just like any other early-game rod, it is not recommended to spend money to Enchant the due to its obsolescence as the player progresses in the game. (This is only recommended for players who don't want to obtain the.) Due to it's low stat however, it can be used in niche cases, which are only recommended for well off players. It's low stat allows fish above it's threshold to be cut off from the loot table, allowing fish within the limit, such as rare fish like the to be singled out from a larger loot table. Should a player be willing to spend some Relics for such a purpose, they may enchant this rod with any non boosting Enchantments to catch low weight but high rarity fish, such as the aforementioned Pufferfish. Any non boosting Enchantments help as or can catch fish faster, and and/or can help with catching erratic fish.
