Obtainment
The Carbon Rod can be obtained for 2,000C$ C$ in Moosewood, the island where new players spawn in. It is located in Moosewood Village at the Merchant, Marc's Shop, in the same area where the Training Rod, Plastic Rod, Fast Rod, and Lucky Rod can be found.
Notes
Just like any other early-game rod, it is not recommended to spend money to Enchant the Carbon Rod due to its obsolescence as the player progresses in the game, But if you would like to enchant it, it is recommended to use: For better control, Controlled, (0.05 control bar size increase) For higher lure speeds Swift (30% Lure Speed) or preferably Hasty (55% Lure Speed) For catching higher weighted fish Unbreakable (10,000kg max kg) or preferably Herculean. (25,000kg max kg) It is recommended to stick with the Carbon Rod until you can afford the Steady Rod.

The Carbon Rod has the least decrease on lure speed of any rod, tied with many rods like the Fungal Rod or the Magnet Rod. When speaking to Marina at the Statue of Sovereignty, it is revealed that the Founding Fisher, Oscar the Great, caught some of the largest sea creatures with just a Carbon Rod.
