Tranquility Rod

RodsFisch

Overview[1]

The Tranquility Rod is a Stage Fishing Rod obtained from Sprout's quest.

The Tranquility Rod completely replaces the standard fishing reel with a 4-lane rhythm mini-game, similar to the gameplay of osu!mania or Friday Night Funkin. "Notes" fall down on four lanes, and the player must hit them with timed key presses. Each hit is rated SICK!!, Good!, Bad, or MISS based on timing accuracy. Progress is gained through accurate hits and lost through misses, with difficulty scaling based on the hooked fish's rarity, resilience, and progress speed. The rhythm game's difficulty dynamically scales - higher rarity fish produce faster notes, tighter timing windows, harsher miss penalties, and stronger progress drain. The rod's own stats also affect the mini-game: widens timing windows, softens miss penalties, and slows note fall speed. Overall, the rod has decent stats, except that it is lacking in its, being at a low.

Enchantment Interactions

Certain Enchantments add special colored notes to the rhythm game that grant bonus progress when hit: Stab notes (Chaotic, Piercing, Spooky, Peppermint, Rage) - grant bonus progress and briefly stun the fish. Freeze notes (Chronos, Cryogenic) - grant bonus progress, freeze all notes in place, and regenerate progress over time.

Fish Behavior Attacks

Certain hunt fishes have different attacking patterns on the Tranquility rod., and - they instantly "bite" off a certain amount of progress. - spawns a burst of extra notes, and Skeletal Leviathan - speeds up the rate of notes and - temporarily locks out one lane Frostwyrm - increases note speed and reduce timing windows, and - grants fake progress, then drains out more after a while Bloop Fish - gradually increases note speed, until a perfect hit is made. Radiant Crystal - gradually shrinks timing windows, until a perfect hit is made. Wyvern - drains progress and temporarily speeds up notes

Trivia

This rod has a RARE chance to mentally damage your sanity, with a “Free Spirit” jump scare by making notes come at you at light speed and having you hit them on EVERY lane. This jumpscare was meant to lose the fish, however it is easily completable by just spamming the keys.
