Description
The Skeleton Knight is a unit spawned from the Necromancer's Level 2 and 3 gravestones and randomly from dead enemies while the Necromancer's Tome consumable is active. It can be considered an upgrade of the Sword Skeleton, owing to its higher health and damage. Similar to the Sword Skeleton, if there are enemies in its range, it will stop moving and start attacking them with its sword. If there are no enemies in its range, it will wait for a while for enemies to enter it. If no enemy enters its range, it will continue walking. It can also deal damage through collision.
Appearance
The Skeleton Knight is made entirely of white parts that resemble a skeletal humanoid. It does not have a full torso, but instead has the bone cage for it. Its head is slightly smaller than most other enemies and has two large black eyeholes. It wears a brown belt, black crown and a chestplate, which has a skull with neon blue eyes. It wields a black sword with skulls that have neon blue eyes.
Strategy
The Skeleton Knight is pretty useful against slow enemies with high health, like the Molten or Abnormal Boss. However, its low range makes it ineffective against fast enemies with high health, like the Shock or Glitch. Stalling towers such as the Freezer can allow the Skeleton Knight to attack enemies for longer, maximizing their high DPS potential (~137 DPS per unit). The Skeleton Knight can deal full collision damage to enemies with defense, like the Heavy or Abnormal Boss. The damage from its sword is still affected by defense. The Skeleton Knight can be useful against hidden enemies as it has hidden detection, though it may struggle against higher health hidden enemies like the Shadow Boss. The Skeleton Knight will struggle against any enemy with abilities that damage units because of its low health. For example, if the Fallen King uses its Sword Swing attack, the Skeleton Knight will take significant damage and die in two slashes.
