Description
The Slime Trooper is a starter support tower which fires globs of slime at enemies, slowing them down. It costs 300 Coins to purchase. The Slime Trooper will fire a slime projectile at enemies at a decently slow firerate. When hit, they will receive the Slowed attribute, which slows them down and has slime drop from them, slowing them down by 15% at Level 0 and increasing at higher levels, reaching 22.5% at Level 4. Boss enemies are immune to any kind of slowdown applied by Slime Trooper. At Level 4, it will be able to hit multiple enemies at once as its slime projectiles now explode on impact and dealing Splash Damage, though as it does not deal explosion damage some effects from that like Defense bypass, damage drop off or default lead detection are not present. The Slime Trooper's ability to slow down enemies is very similar to Toxic Gunner, though they are both different effects and the latter has more potent slowdown and additional effects on top of slow. Slime Trooper is able to detect Hidden and Flying enemies, making it useful across various gamemodes. As Slime Trooper cannot damage Lead enemies, it will require other towers to attack the them, such as Sniper or Shotgunner. The Slime Trooper is considered an early-game tower. It does great as starting defense, but towards late game, its damage is insufficient to deal with stronger enemies, therefore taking on a support role towards late game.

Strategy
The Slime Trooper is a decent way to stall enemies, giving high damage towers like Ranger and Rocketeer more time to damage these enemies. As its slowdown effect is unique, it can be used alongside other towers like the Freezer, Tesla or Toxic Gunner without issue, allowing the effects to stack. Using these together with Slime Trooper can cause enemies to crawl at incredibly slow speeds, allowing more time for other towers to attack the enemies. However, this is not a reliable strategy unless a lot of high damage towers are brought. Boss enemies will not receive the Slowed attribute, making them immune to the slowdown. Firework Technician is also a good tower to pair with Slime Trooper as doing so grants Slime Trooper the ability to hit Lead enemies. The Medic can also be used to give it lead detection. Thanks to it being able to hit more enemies at Level 4, it can also generate multiple fireworks at once. The Slime Trooper's targeting can be set to Random at Level 4 to maximize the splash damage and slowdown effect across a large group of enemies. The Slime Trooper has a slow firerate, so this may not be very effective against swift enemies like Molten Mech or Yeti. This can be somewhat solved by pairing it up with cooldown decreasing towers like Commander or Medic. The Slime Trooper possesses a rather small range, and thus careful placements is required to maximize this tower's effectiveness. At later levels, its range becomes much larger, thus being more forgiving in terms of placements.

Patch history
The Slime Trooper's concept bears resemblance to an unused tower concept of a Glue Gunner, a tower polled by BelowNatural in 2020. The Slime Trooper is the second Splash Damage tower to lack Lead detection, the first being Paintballer. The Slime Trooper update thumbnail is located in the unreleased map Petulance Ground.
