Appearance

Glisten is a circular mirror with a smirk on his face and a light pale golden border and body. His border swirls at the top of his head, giving the appearance of hair and he has light pink blush underneath his eyes. He has a large pink bow behind him that is tied around his chest and wears white leg warmers with pink glitter spots. He can also be seen holding a microphone in his artwork. When hit by a Twisted, his expression changes to one of exasperation or discomfort—he squints his eyes, furrows his eyebrows, and grits his teeth.

Personality

Outwardly, Glisten is a charismatic, prideful, and outgoing Toon. He enjoys being the center of attention and being included by the other Toons, and is obsessed with appearing perfect in both his appearance and capabilities. Even though his ego may get in the way at times, he's still nice and cares for other Toons, complimenting other Toons like, and. However, underneath his flamboyant persona, Glisten is rather insecure, as implied in many of his interactions, notably with, and, becoming defensive when they point out his shortcomings. He often overworks himself in maintaining his flawless facade, which is best showcased in 2 of the notes lying on the floor of his room in Roleplay Mode. It is quite clear that beneath his dashing facade is a Toon striving for validation and attempts to cover any flaws to receive this admiration. One of these flaws is his clumsiness—as other Toons like Rodger and noticed Glisten running into objects by accident.

Requirement Strategies

For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more. For the second requirement, you can walk near while he is in his Passive state to obtain Research. Playing as also helps getting it faster because of his Passive Ability. This will be easier if Twisted Glisten is on the Daily Twisted Board. For the third requirement, you can go into multiple runs and do as many machines as you can. To do this, focus on using a Toon that has a fast Extraction Speed or Big Skill Check, you can also use Trinkets that increase your Skill Check or Extraction.

Strategies

Glisten has the the highest Extraction Speed in the game, making him one of the best Extractor Toons. While Glisten's small Skill Check may make the rest superior strictly in terms of extracting, Glisten's average Movement Speed, Stamina, and easy getaway Ability make him arguably a better Toon. He is similar to Vee in terms of Stats, being faster than her. However, both his lackluster Skill Check and shared low Stealth can become issues. Glisten's Active Ability, allows him to easily get away from Twisteds that are chasing you, out of dead ends, or to cover ground quickly. Line of Sight isn't required to use this Ability, so it makes it even easier. However, watching your Active Ability's cooldown is necessary, as using it at the wrong time can make you unable to escape tricky situations later. For example, if you're on the Library Floor and you were to do the last Machine in a room adjacent to the Elevator, you can teleport through the walls and save a lot of Stamina. However, there is a risk that the target Toon that you teleport to has a Twisted chasing them or near them, which could attract the Twisted's attention to you instead. You should also note Glisten doesn't have an extremely long range for his Ability. It's also worth noting that, when Glisten is afflicted with the -75% Extraction Speed Debuff from using his ability, he is left with 0.375 Extraction Speed for 10 seconds. Conversely, you may also use this Ability to attract Twisteds' attention.

Patch history

Despite popular belief due to his flamboyant personality, Glisten is not canonically homosexual, as confirmed by Qwelver. Glisten was originally a Don't Hug Me I'm Scared OC that Qwelver made. Glisten is the second non- Toon to have 5 on a Stat. Glisten owns a wired microphone. He is shown holding it in his info card artwork and mentions it breaking to Vee in one of their dialogues. Glisten and Scraps have a similar Active Ability, going to a Toon's location quickly, with the differences being that Scraps' Ability needs direct line of sight to use and works on Machines, while Glisten's doesn't and has a cooldown 4 times longer. His name, Glisten, means "to reflect a sparkling light or a faint intermittent glow", reflecting his status as a mirror. Before that, he was originally going to be called "Mirror", with the name change being quite obvious: Mirror would be quite a boring name. Glisten is designation SC-007 with the SC standing for Side Character. Glisten receives the Debuff upon using his Active Ability. According to a note from the Roleplaying Mode, Glisten gets the Debuff from using his Active Ability because it disorients him and makes him feel dizzy, causing him to bump into things. Glisten's dialogue with and gossip from confirms this. This could also be a potential reason on top of his insecurities on why he is so concerned about his appearance and often asks other Toons if he looks good in his dialogues like 's or 's. This makes him the first and currently only Toon to obtain a visible Debuff from an Ability.
