Overview
The Jade Tablet is a Junk item found in Sterling's Church and various locations within the Mines. This rectangular green stone slab features ancient engravings with a rough, weathered texture. The text is divided into two sections, giving it the appearance of a mystical artifact. There are a total of 4 tablets, with the player only having to find 3. Though classified as Junk, collecting all 4 Jade Tablets unlocks the hidden room containing the Jade Sword. Players must: Find 3 Tablets. Note that one of them is already in the correct place. Access the hidden room behind three stacked Barrels. Place all tablets on the red button. This gives the tablets functional value.
Trivia
The Jade Tablet in Dead Rails was likely inspired by the real life artifact known as the Emerald Tablet, which features engraved glyphs on its surface. Each Jade Tablet has a unique texture. Unlike most Junk items, the Jade Tablet cannot be sold. It is unknown who placed the singular Jade Tablet on the button inside the hidden room, though there is a good chance whoever did it intended for someone to find it and solve the puzzle. The Jade Tablets likely based on "Emerald Tablet" which existed in 8th Century. The Word "Jade" is based on a rare mineral called "Jade".
