Outlaw Camps; Sheriff’s Office; Ironclad; After Lyfe Biome; deposit: 5 Metal The Pauldrons are two separate Armor pieces in Dead Rails.
Pauldrons look like small dark metal wedges and can be bought for $75 in the General Store if spawned. It can also be found in Outlaw Camps or Abandoned Sheriff's Offices. Additionally, the Ironclad Class spawns with a full set of Armor. Pauldrons can be sold for $30 each and can be unequipped by pressing on the corresponding arm of the character icon in the Inventory.

Effects
Each Pauldron provides the player with a flat +7.5% damage reduction, for a +15% damage reduction when wearing both. Removing the armor doesn't remove the effects (bug, possibly fixed).
Patch history
Due to a bug, unequipping armor does not remove the damage reduction until the player dies or another piece of armor is equipped in that slot. A full armor set gives a 50% damage reduction, or 35% without the Helmet. A full set of Armor gives the player 50% damage reduction. A "Pauldron" originates from a piece of armor worn on the shoulder from the 15th century. Before the update on 31/1/2026, the left/right pauldrons were originally called "Left/Right Shoulder Armor" The Ironclad class will always spawn the player with a full set of Armor, but this comes with a drawback of a 10% reduced movement speed.
