Reducing damages taken; $75 (Shoulder Armors); 7 Bonds (Helmet); $125 or 10 Bonds (Chestplate); $30 (Shoulder Armors); $40 (Helmet); $50 (Chestplate); Towns; Outlaw Camps; General Store; Ironclad; The Alamo; Knight; After Lyfe Biome The Armor is an unofficial name for a set of items in Dead Rails which reduce damage taken by enemies.
Armor is an equippable set of items that increases the player's damage reduction. There are four total pieces: a Helmet, a Chestplate, a Left Shoulder Armor, and a Right Shoulder Armor. Each piece provides a different level of flat damage reduction: Helmet: 15% Chestplate: 20% Left Shoulder Armor: 7.5% Right Shoulder Armor: 7.5% Wearing a full set of Armor reduces most damage taken by a total of 50%. For this reason, acquiring full Armor as soon as possible is recommended (especially in Nightmare Mode), as it greatly increases survivability against enemies. The Helmet and the Shoulder Pads can also block bullets that hit them, significantly reducing their damage even further. The Helmet also prevents most bullets from reaching the player's head hitbox, allowing them to survive enemy fire that would normally be lethal. Armor can occasionally be purchased at the General Store, and it may also be found in Sheriff Buildings, Towns, or Outlaw Camps. The Helmet and Chestplate can be purchased in the lobby using Bonds. Additionally, The Alamo, Knight and Ironclad spawn with Armor which cant be sold at a Trading Post. The Alamo spawns with a Helmet, Knight spawns with a Chestplate and Helmet, and the Ironclad class spawns with a full set.

Strategy
A full set of Armor costs 275 (formerly 375) at the General Store, and sells for 110 (formerly 150). Due to a bug, players can keep the damage reduction from removed pieces of Armor until they die or another piece of equipment is equipped in that slot. For some reason, the Chestplate doesn't seem to block bullets like the other pieces. This might be for balancing reasons, since if the Chestplate also blocked bullets, players would be nearly bulletproof, except for at the legs. Players can check their equipped Armor using the Inventory, which can be accessed by pressing the backquote key [`] or by clicking the Inventory button on the top left of the screen. The Armor appears to be visually inspired by the suit worn by "Ned" Kelly, an infamous Australian bushranger and outlaw who used homemade armor in shootouts with police. Wearing a full set of Armor has no drawbacks, unless the player is using the Ironclad class (which reduces movement speed, even when not wearing the armor). Ironclad Zombies wear a full set of Armor, but do not drop it when killed. The Chestplate has the best money to damage reduction ratio (0.16% per dollar), while Shoulder Pads have the worst (0.1% per dollar). If the Helmet was still purchaseable, it would've been in the middle (0.15% per dollar). Although, since the helmet and shoulder pads deflect bullets, it could be considered “more valuable” There is currently a bug on mobile where Chestplates or headgear cannot be dropped sometimes.
