The Onirifalx is a Stage Fishing Rod obtainable via a set of quests within The Depths.
The Onirifalx is an end-game rod with high overall stats but at the cost of infinite negative. However, the negative resilience can turn out to be helpful if the user applies any enchantment with a stab passive, as it massively boosts the stabs. It has several great passive abilities which make the rod powerful for farming through its fast catches. It also has +4 hunt Disturbance and has a Hunt Focus for the Absolute Darkness event. It is obtained by completing Nick's quests. +70% Progress Speed 50% chance for Levitas (5x) 7% chance for Sacratus (7x) 3% chance for Puritas (8.7x) 30% chance to summon a giant version of the Onirifalx to hit the bobber, filling roughly half the progress bar at the start of minigame. Every perfect catch reduces by 0.01, shrinking the bar but adding +5% Progress Speed. (Capped at 0.07 and +120% Progress Speed). Every normal catch adds 0.01 control and reduces Progress Speed by 5% until it is back to default. Can fish in Roslit Volcano, Brine Pool, and Toxic Grove, rendering the Invincible enchant useless. Obtainment
The quest items for the Onirifalx rod can be obtained through trading and completing Nick's 3 quests. To get it, enter The Depths and talk to the NPC Nick for the quest. The first thing he will ask the player to get is a Charred Boot, which requires the Zeus Rod. This quest can be done at any level. When the Zeus Rod's ability activates, there's a 10% chance to get a Charred mutation. The Charred Boot can be obtained more easily by pairing Garbage bait with the Zeus Rod, and fishing in the Common Crate Fish Abundance or the hidden Scallop abundance at the coordinates 24, 125, 744 Keep in mind the hidden Scallop abundance is shown when using the fish radar. (The abundance not showing got fixed and it shows now) For Nick's second quest, which can only be done at level 500 or higher, he will ask the player for a Wrath Scylla. Which can be obtained by a 70% chance Rod Of The Zenith. (It is highly recommended to use Cryogenic for this quest should the player have to spare, which can be fished up during Admin Events or obtained from the Black Market on weekends, or Peppermint if Festive Relics are available for the secondary enchantment. Use Herculean or Controlled if exalted relics are not available as the primary enchantment. It is also recommended to use a high resilience bait with high luck for speed, such as Neuro Slug or Deep Coral). Third and finally, the quest only able to be done at level 1000 or higher, Nick will ask the player for a Wrath, Shiny, Sparkling Floppy and reward the player the Onirifalx.
Enchantments
Piercing, Chaotic or Rage is the most recommended enchant, to pair with the rod’s negative infinite, as both enchants provide chances to slash the fish. This is helpful for catching many higher rarity fish, like most, and most importantly, fish during Admin Events, like the Colossal Ethereal Dragon and the Broken Scylla, that have their progress speed locked. Piercing adds an extra 15% progress speed, granting a total of 85% in progress speed (base). Note that Piercing is an exalted enchant, which requires. Due to how the game's code works, Piercing and Chaotic's stabs are calculated based on the fish movement. To keep it short, the more the fish moves in the bar, the more opportunities of stabbing (stunning) the fish, meaning Onirifalx's negative infinite provides the highest stabbing rate in the game only outpaced by the Cerulean Fang Rod if it catches a fish. Spooky has a higher stab chance than Chaotic and the same stab chance as Piercing, even if it fills the progress bar for less, while also giving the rod a slight control boost. Trivia
The first part of the rod's name (Onirifalx), Oniri, likely comes from the Greek word Oneiros, which means dream, and falx to mean sickle or scythe in Latin. Together, Onirifalx could mean "Dream Sickle" or "Dream Scythe". This rod has the lowest stat in the entire game. This rod has a custom slash texture when enchanted with an enchantment that is able to slash. This is the second non-exclusive rod to have a custom UI, the first being the Flimsy Rod.
