HardDisastersNatural Disaster Survival

Overview[1]

The Earthquake is one of the 13 disasters in Natural Disaster Survival. During an earthquake, the infrastructure will suddenly start to shake violently. This will cause tall & unstable structures to collapse, while also gradually destabilizing increasingly larger and more stable buildings. The ground will also turn into a conveyor belt-like state, shifting players and buildings in random directions, thus further destabilizing buildings.

Guide

This disaster has no warning signs (aka Sunny Weather). There are a total of 7 disasters with no warning signs. Exit any buildings or structures and stay on the grass or any unaffected terrain. Avoid stepping and especially jumping on any fallen debris or moving plates to avoid taking damage or getting flung outside of the map. Holding jump allows players to better control their movement, but do avoid jumping on any fallen debris. If you can find an area without debris, stay still in that area, just be careful not to fall off the map. If you can find a seat close to the ground, sit in it as you don't experience fall damage and reduce the chance of flinging away. Of course get out when its going to fall into the ocean. Avoid using a Balloon during an Earthquake as you can possibly die, or get flung in mid-air, even when you're not touching any debris. Instead, use an Apple to heal yourself if you take any damage during the disaster. In the maps Party Palace and Modest Headquarters, there are two structures which are actually unaffected by the Earthquake (as in, they stay anchored and don't move at all): the pedestal that the ride is fastened to, and the huge green patch of grass respectively. Standing on them during an Earthquake on either of these maps is a brilliant idea. Although the player still continues to be pushed here and there by the effects of the earthquake, they do not have to worry about damage from unanchored bricks.

Patch history

Earthquakes can cause intense lag, especially on lower-end devices. This may make it more difficult for some players to control their characters or cause them to be more easily flung off the map. Before its removal, players were able to avoid shaking amid earthquakes by standing on the Red Torsoed NPC. Earthquakes can shake and damage parts of the sky. For instance, in Launch Land, if there's an earthquake, the rocket would be destroyed, even if it had already been launched. Rarely, structures can get flung so hard, only if the earthquake shakes violently enough or the structure glitches out. Earthquakes affect both anchored and unanchored parts differently anchored parts shake along with the disaster island's movement, while unanchored parts can be thrown around more violently and unpredictably. However, there are two exceptions to this, namely the pedestal in the map Party Palace and the green patch of grass in the map Modest Headquarters, as mentioned above in the tips sub-section. KeepAnchored builds shake with the island during earthquakes, while unanchored structures get thrown around violently until the round ends.
