Description
The Grenadier is a unit spawned by the Mercenary Base at Level 1 or higher. The Grenadier receives two upgrades, one when the Mercenary Base is upgraded to Level 3 and one when upgraded to Level 6. It spawns next to the Mercenary Base and moves towards the entrance, whereupon it disappears. Whenever there is an enemy in its range, it will stop moving to attack it. It will continue walking if there are no detectable enemies in its range for a few seconds. It fires grenades from a grenade launcher which explode upon impact, dealing splash damage. While it has no limit in regular gameplay, there is a limit of 7 Grenadiers per Mercenary Base in PVP.
Appearance
The Grenadier has pale skin. It wears a green hoodie, blue pants, black belt and brown shoes. It also has a grey vest, helmet, knee-pads and elbow-pads. On its vest, there are multiple grenades attached to it. It wields a grey grenade launcher.

Strategy
The Grenadier can be quite useful against hordes of weaker enemies, as it deals splash damage. It can also be useful against enemies like the Summoner Boss, as it can damage both it and the enemies it summons. The Grenadier does not have hidden detection, meaning that other towers should be used to deal with them. The Rifleman or Riot Guard units can be used against such enemies instead. While it cannot target them, it can still damage them indirectly if there is another detectable enemy nearby. As the Grenadier deals splash damage, it can deal full damage to defense enemies, like the Abnormal Boss or Giant Boss. It can also deal full damage to such enemies through collision. This also means it can damage lead enemies, making it useful against Leads and Elite Leads. Though do keep in mind you will need a Level 1 Mercenary Base which may be hard to afford early on. Unlike most other units, the Grenadier is affected by Damage Buffs as most explosions from units. Because of this, having two Mercenary Bases next to each other is recommended to boost its damage by 10%, 12.5% or 15%. Damage Flags can be used to boost its damage even further. Other splash damage units, like the Missile APC, are also affected by Damage Buffs.
Trivia
The Grenadier's name is misspelled as Grenedier in the Mercenary Base's unit selection menu.
