Description
Tower Outskirts was the event map for the third night of the Solar Eclipse Event. It briefly returned in Sandbox mode and was later removed from the game again, though nothing from the Solar Eclipse Event was there. Like other event maps, it had a specialized wave structure with special enemies. Players started with 1,400 (1,500 if the player joined Paradoxum Games) at the start of the game. Upon triumphing, you were awarded with 150 Coins, and. Losing on wave 15 awarded 50 Coins, and instead. This map used the Penumbras as its narrator, instead of the Commander.
Design & Path
Tower Outskirts was a map that took place near the gate to a large tower. The tower was grey with large glowing orange windows that were partially covered in vines and leaves, and stone statues. The castle had a drawbridge and a moat around it. Multiple broken houses, watchtowers, fences and obstacles were scattered across the map. It took a curvy turn that went left and right, the path started from the gate outside the tower, and back to the hills. If one can look at Tower Outskirts more closely, this map took place right next to the Totality Tower. In Sandbox mode, a majority of the map was invisible, though the objects still remained. The path started at the tower's gate and ends at a cave. It took multiple curvy turns to the left and right until it reached the last curve, where the path became straight.
Story
The T.D.S. Organization reach the Totality Tower, but are stopped at its outskirts by Penumbras, The Umbra's head knight. The T.D.S. Organization fight the army sent out by the Penumbras and later Penumbras himself, defeating him. This allows them to enter the Totality Tower to face off against The Umbra herself.
Rewards
The game calculated how much Coins Coins and you received based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 50% more (08:00 UTC Friday – 08:00 UTC Sunday), any earned was multiplied by 1.5x. The VIP gamepass also multiplied any earned by 1.25x. Any rewards that ended in a decimal point was rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal. In Sandbox mode, there were no rewards. Rewards were calculated as
Event Wave Structure
Formula for calculating wave bonus on each wave was: (220 + (75 × Waves Completed)) ÷ Players The waves in Tower Outskirts could not be skipped. They followed these timings: Bolded names indicates an enemy type's debut. ---- Wave Structure
Event Strategy
Towers like the Crook Boss, Scout and Hunter are recommended against the first waves, due to their high DPS and early hidden detection. Towers with high DPS, such as the Minigunner, Accelerator, Turret and Ranger are necessary for this night, due to the enemies having significantly higher health than other nights before it. The Commander and DJ Booth can help with boosting the firerate and range of the towers respectively. Towers that can detect flying enemies, such as the Hunter, Ace Pilot, Pursuit and Ranger are necessary, due to the Bat being a flying enemy.
