Description

The Pursuit is an advanced tower that can be bought for 15,000 Coins after reaching or bought via a gamepass for 1,500 Robux. The Pursuit patrols a specified area, attacking any enemy that enters it that it can also see in its own range. The area it patrols can be changed with its Patrol ability. It also has two upgrade paths. Once an enemy enters its range, it fires upon the enemy that fits its targeting, hovering in the air while it fires at the targeted enemy. It only stops firing when all enemies are killed, or all enemies have left its attacking area. It then resumes patrolling its range. It has a limited amount of ammo which, when it runs out, makes it reload. At Level 3, the Pursuit gains the ability to fire missiles at enemies, which deal splash damage. The explosion is separated into two spheres. Enemies in the inner sphere will be dealt 100% of the stated damage, while the damage in the outer sphere decreases linearly. Additionally, the Pursuit's missiles can damage Lead enemies. The Pursuit's can also detect Flying enemies because it is an air-based tower. If upgraded to the bottom Level 4, it also can detect Hidden enemies. The Pursuit is considered to be a mid to late-game tower due to its high DPS and splash damage capabilities, as well as its high cost. The Pursuit has a placement limit of six per player. This is decreased to five in PVP mode.

Strategy

As the Pursuit is an air-based tower, it is immune to all stuns. This makes it useful against enemies that can stun towers, like Molten Executioners, Fallen Honor Guards, Unstable Ices and bosses. As it is also not a humanoid tower, it is also immune to any debuffs from enemies prior to Lunar Overture Event, that being enemies like the Nuclear Monster or Soul Stealer. At Level 3, the Pursuit gains missiles. These can be quite powerful, as they allow it to deal damage to multiple enemies at once. If you want to use the Pursuit's missiles for their area of effect capabilities, the bottom path upgrade is recommended as it focuses on missiles. Due to being explosives, they can bypass the defense of enemies such as Frost Hunters or Fallen Shields, and many other enemies with defense. While the top path's missiles are somewhat inconsistent due to their explosion size, the bottom path's explosion radius is far larger, rendering potential misses extremely unlikely. The better buffs to apply to the Pursuit depend on the upgrade path you want to use the most. If you are going to use the top upgrade path, Firerate Buffs from towers like the Commander are recommended, as its main DPS comes from its guns. If you are going to use the bottom upgrade path, Damage Buffs from towers like the DJ Booth or Mercenary Base are recommended. As its main DPS comes from its missiles, which are not affected by Firerate Buffs, Damage Buffs are better here, as they can affect both the guns and the missiles. Regardless, both are still beneficial and, preferably, both should be applied.

Patch history

The Pursuit was teased on the 15th of May 2020 by BelowNatural in this tweet. The Pursuit seems to be based on the Heli Pilot from the Bloons Tower Defense series. Before its rework on the 27th of November 2024, the placement sound was taken from the gear from the Roblox catalog. Weirdly, the gamepass for the Pursuit used to be called Helicopter instead of Pursuit before 15th of April 2023. The Pursuit is the first tower to have two upgrade paths, with previous towers having only one upgrade path. However, the Hacker was the first tower to originally come with two upgrade paths, as the Pursuit was an older tower with only one upgrade path prior to its rework in v1.43.0. The Pursuit is the second tower to change the position in other maps without being sold, with the first being Brawler. However, unlike Brawler which can free space for other towers after being moved, the Pursuit's originally placed helipads still have a fixed position and cannot free up space until it is sold. The bottom path Pursuit, Sniper, Engineer, DJ Booth, Necromancer and Commander are the only towers that can damage all enemies, no matter their immunities. The Pursuit was originally free to be claimed once the player reached, but due to the Pursuit rework in v1.43.0, the Pursuit needs to be bought from the shop for 15,000 Coins once the player is at.
