Overview[1]
The Ithaca-37 is a heavy close range shotgun manufactured in large numbers for all purpose use being made for everyone, as it is commonly used by civilians, military personnel, and even the police force. Also including incredible 12-gauge capability for a Level Requirement of 22 at Dealers, and for the cheap cost of $750. Home to 5 shots instead of the more risky and regular, 2 shells from The Sawed-Off, and 3 from The Super Shotty. Only sacrificing a higher slot usage exchange for more shots and heavy damage capability. It will completely ruin the day of your poor, poor, enemies who are unarmored and standing in the way of you holding this bad boy. However, dealing with armor is a different story. Unfortunately, because not all things can be perfect, the armor penetration stat is completely and absolutely horrendous on this gun and shouldn't ever be used to kill an armored kit, or else you'll be in quite a predicament.

Usage and Tactics
The Ithaca 37 is not a completely heavy type of shotgun, but comes with reasonably tight pellet spread, decent ammunition capacity size for a shotgun. It has quite a sluggish pumping action when it comes to pumping like The Super-Shorty, nor does it have the availability of The Sawn-Off, but because it is still being a powerful and hefty shotgun, it can obviously still do pretty reasonably well against the other shotguns mentioned, due to its flexibility at multiple ranges and in a variety of tough situations. Still being a shotgun, it should just be mainly used as that. Due to its tighter spread than it's smaller and weaker counterparts, using it at farther ranges technically IS possible but highly not recommended because it will require many shots to kill, making it easy for your foes to escape simply untouched. In the hands of a skilled user or player, you could easily pick off other users using M4A1 or AKS-74U that have forgotten to use armor, with ease at the exact right opportunities. But remember to never get too cocky. Like the other shotguns, the best way to eliminate enemies with this is to utilize as much cover as possible, and use many ambushing tactics to take them out by surprise so fast that the last thing they hear is the sound of a man with a shotgun filled with MURDEROUS intent. In order to take them down quickly and effectively as possible, thanks to its higher magazine size it's not just limited to hit and run situations. And can as well handle itself much more reasonably inside of more drawn out conflicts.
Pros & Cons
Cheap. Has the best ammo capacity in the shotgun class. Very high damage. Very effective in CQC. Can be found in Weapon Crates. Takes up 5 inventory slots. Ineffective beyond 10 studs. Slow fire-rate. Horrible armor penetration. Painfully long reload time on empty.
Patch history
This weapon's appearance and name is inspired from its real-world counterpart, the Ithaca 37. You could formerly get the Ithaca 37 from Red Scraps during the 1.3 update, however since the 1.3.1 update it was no longer obtainable there. With the 1.6 update completely revamping scraps, the shotgun is now obtainable from Red Crates only. This is the only full-sized shotgun in the game, at the time of statement, with the other shotguns being modified carbine variants or improvised weapons with their stocks removed. The ithaca is pretty useful in infection, primarily due to the fact zombies have lower overall limb health. This means you can one-shot zombies at ranges you couldn't in the main game.
