Overview[1]
As seen of TV, The Tommy Gun, or The M1921 Thompson Submachine Gun is a very memorable staple inside of mafia and gangster history, as well as inside the history of SECTOR-07. Being able to house a lot of damage with many capabilities, as well with a very generous magazine capacity to compliment that. As you would probably expect from the second most expensive SMGs up to date, it is widely considered to be one of the best Submachine Guns if not one of the best guns in the game. It can surely hold its weight to the big guns, namely AKS-74U and M4A1 due to its more controllable recoil and ridiculous 50 round mag. In addition, it's high fire rate will allow you to shred through gangs as well as unarmored players.

Usage & Tactics
This gun while being a powerful offensive and defensive firearm, still poses many weaknesses that can easily get you downed. Anyone with a pistol can easily out-skill someone with a Tommy Gun. It's low mobility makes you an easy target and its damage per shot makes it less efficient (7-5 shots to down an unarmored player). It's best used by someone experienced in gunfights or for crowd control. On paper, the Tommy Gun is an appealing option. Even with its low-damage capacity, it's high fire-rate allows the weapon to excel in close quarters combat (CQC), aided by its relatively good hip-fire accuracy and recoil. However, the Tommy Gun has plenty of detractions as well. The aforementioned big magazine capacity coupled with liberal use of the trigger will deplete ammunition supplies quickly, even with the generously high ammunition reserves. The Tommy Gun is also generally a very difficult weapon to control. It's recoil when ADS makes long-range combat a challenge, which is not aided by the high amount of muzzle flash, poor long range damage. The Tommy Gun therefore is best used at close and medium range, where such disadvantages are less present and can be mitigated. As mentioned before, this weapon excels in crowd control and shredding multiple enemies at once. The accuracy and recoil issue will not be a problem as long as if you can shoot in the crowd's general direction. The Tommy Gun is an excellent weapon with a magazine size similar to an LMG. Able to be used for defense or offense, it can also be used to lay cover fire and intimidate even the strongest of foes.
Pros & Cons

Patch history
It possesses the second biggest magazine in SECTOR-07 among publicly released weapons. The biggest magazine being the M60. This weapon's appearance and name is inspired from its real-world counterpart, the Thompson submachine gun. The Tommy Gun can be found in red weapon crates. The Tommy Gun was manufactured in the year 1921, according to the in-game description of it. The in-game Tommy Gun has a slow fire rate compared to its real life counterpart with a 750 RPM cyclic rate. The old model of the Tommy Gun had misaligned sights. The Tommy Gun, as it stands, is one of the only weapons after the V1.3 update to not have it's ammo capacity changed. The "Currant" skin for the Thompson SMG may be a reference to the Saint Valentine's Day Massacre of Chicago in 1929, due to the hearts found on the skin. Category:Guns
