The Baseball Bat is a long wooden melee released on October 17th, 2020, as a part of the v1.0.0 pre-beta release of Criminality. It is automatically unlocked when first joining the game and can only be purchased at Dealers for $65. It's an all-round, reliable, and easy-to-master melee.

Usage & Tactics
The Bat is notorious for its powerful concussion capabilities and swift swing speed. Learning how to correctly use this weapon in terms of when to block and when to strike makes this weapon very reliable in rough situations. It comes with a few downsides, the biggest being the inability to block any knives, alongside lowered mobility. While it is cheap, reliable, and decently powerful, the lowered mobility of having this weapon equipped can be a nuisance against lighter weapons that can't be blocked, due to the lowered mobility, sneaking up on targets or luring them into more confined areas can prove to be more effective than getting into a 1v1 situation in an open area. Landing headshots are also recommended, especially against melees that The Bat can't block. Even if you can block what your opponent has, headshots will still be a more reliable way to come out on top. The Bat is the perfect balance of damage, speed, and reliability. Capable of handling most situations and performing powerful stun attacks.

Pros & Cons
Concusses on Headshot. Cheap. High damage. Can be found for free in Weapon Crates. Cannot be blocked by most melees. Can block the majority of melees. Wide Swing area/hitbox. 3rd swing concussion lasts much longer than normal. Fast swing speed. Generous stock. Limited Skin giving money each hit with longer concussions. Can't block knives. Lowered mobility can be an annoyance. 3rd swing can be hard to manage.
Patch history
The pre V1.4 Bat model was taken from a Roblox catalog gear. You can break necks by hitting 2 swings to the opponents head with the 3rd swing then following with another. Bat got nerfed in brawl [October 16th 2023] update having a slightly slower swing speed and the third swing speed has longer cooldown For unknown reasons, the Bat cannot block knives whereas the Metal Bat can. Despite the Bat's inability to block knives, it can still block a human sized Scythe. Category:Melees
